there's a running joke that one of my friends' puns have magical powers. and I just had the best idea:
what if wizards got their magic from puns. like, their spell books were full of nothing but puns. Merlin was just the absolute worst. and they were super powerful wizards, but no one ever took them seriously because they carried around books full of puns and told the dumbest jokes and never did any of that cool incantation stuff in public and wore silly pointy hats all the time. and someone finally got fed up with all the puns and burned all the spell books, which is why there are no wizards today. because of people with poor humor hating on wizards.
