we’ve already established that the events of WKM are most likely a somewhat popular unsolved mystery in the story universe, but here is a follow up question. 

What happened to the manor? Mark is / was legally and partly literally dead, there is almost no way that there wouldn’t have been some legal stuff involved with that.

My current favorite outcome is that Mark Iplier couldn’t keep the house for whatever reason, got bought by somebody uninvolved and over time it has become a tourist attraction similar to the Winchester Manor or the Lizzy Bordon House. Mark was bitter about it for a sizable chunk of time until it got popular. Now he goes there every so often to secretly indulge in his narcissism and eat kettle corn. People do notice the resemblance but think he’s simply a weird impersonator. Then there is the one person that is part of the site staff that is 100% sure that Mark is the guy and somehow survived, and is made fun of for it. The guy just wanted to work at the place where the mystery happened because he is a fan of the paranormal and liked the idea of working at a local mystery location. Now he’s subtly keeping an eye on Mark when the the yearly event comes around because while Mark is an ass the mystery has captured his curiosity.

I like how Y/N is played by multiple people. I can’t help but think that it is the polar opposite of when a mystery character in other works wears an outfit that completely covers their entire body, full on ski mask, gloves and sunglasses.

One is “who knows what their motivations could be, they could be anybody” while the other is “This is literally everybody, every configuration of being compacted into a singular form that we are all a part of and take turns controlling, we know what’s probably going to happen here”.

There is a sort of irony in the fact that I have mental soundtracks for every character except for Abe who’s only song so far is 45 by Shinedown.

Yeah Dark has edgy music but it’s stereotypical edgy most of the time, but Abe’s is comical in the way that it’s more deadpan compared to the other’s. It’s like a business man in a room full of clowns.

Some people might classify Wilford as a tomcat, given his promiscuous tendencies.

I was just now double checking that I had the word right and was pleasently surprised to find this as an example: “Koudounaris learned of an army tomcat named the Colonel, for example, who was stationed at San Francisco’s Presidio in the 1890s and was said to be the best mouser the army ever had.”

Which is likely a lovely coincidence, or some of the lore inspiration came from research.

Wilford seems like the kind of guy who would love the Loony Tunes cartoons. Maybe he wouldn’t find the show until twenty years after it started being aired but when ever it comes on since then he would light up with childish glee. He could have a Sylvester Pez dispenser filled with breath mints everywhere he goes. I think part of it is because I see loony tunes fandom as part of an older generation, like collecting coca-cola products or taping Sunday newspaper comic strips to the kitchen fridge. It gives the character more of an “old man” energy, as if he carries traces of things from other points in his life that most people wouldn’t think much about. Even better if there is a moment where his age shows an it takes some other character off guard.
