Zumindestens also habe ich schonmal was gezeigt gekriegt.

I'm back from the dead!
(Okay! So, I'm back and I am now a KSN! (2nd Dahn black belt) *Is so proud of herself*
In my martial art when we get promoted to black belt, or to a higher rank of black belt, we take part in this huge ceremony called the masters exhibition after one of the tournaments. They start with the promotions to 1st Dahn (JKN) and work their way up.
We get called up by school and then we are individually presented with our certificate of promotion by the grand master. It gets more efficient every year, but each time it's very different. In the summer we had several promotions to 5th Dahn (KJN, The first rank of master) for our school. This time we had a proposal when the two of them got promoted (It was so cute!)
However my stuff got sent in late because of my back op, and because of that my certificate was lower in the pile than the rest of the students from my school and it was too late to sort the order. So I had to go up on my own. I was so nervous! I almost cried when I finally had my certificate and joined all the other KSN's at the side.
After the promotions we then have some of the black belts perform a demo for the friends and family of the promotees and other students.
We also had one of the grand master's sons give us a speech before the tournament began (and I think he mentioned it before the promotions as well) and he said that we are "the Kuk Sool family", and that our fellow students are our brothers and sisters, that our instructors are our big brothers and sisters, maybe even aunts and uncles, and that the competitions are like a family gathering.
I couldn't help but think of the whitebeard pirates when I heard it and I was (and still am) so proud to be a part of such a wonderful thing.
I'm sorry I've rambled a bit, but this means a lot to me and I'm glad I can share my achievement with you guys!)
Kuk Sool Won
I'm so happy to be back at Kuk Sool although I'm absolutely aching right now after the first two classes of the year!
Totally motivated to stick in and try my hardest at everything we're doing though and I feel amazing for it!
Kuk Sool Won
My kuk sool class was so hard but so good tonight. It started with 3 ton ups and then an advanced kicking session. So many spin kicks! and then I learnt the rest of my current techniques finished off with going through all of the forms I know so far.
I miss everyone already...
Sooooo, Kuk Sool Won of O'Fallon is second in the world once more. Kuk Sa Nim even let us keep the flag we won last year. Such an honor... It was a lot of fun this year. I can't wait until we all go to Korea next year! Anyway... I won gold, two silvers, and a bronze. Not as good as I did last year, but certainly a step up from Midwest were I was awarded nothing... I also got to see my friend Manabu! We ate Asian food in Bellaire and then walked around the china town there. Made fun of some ricers. All in a day's work. Marc is uber jealous still, methinks. Ah well. That's my update for now!
