CLOSED STARTER @zemothethirteenth
Sam and Bucky had talked at length about their current point of action, one that many saw as immoral and reckless. But Bucky Barnes who had previously been HYDRA's attack dog was walking free, that must have been seen as immoral and reckless as well when it had been first suggested too.
The Wakandan's had of course been venomously against the idea originally, the man was a dangerous criminal who had murdered their beloved king. Letting him free to walk the Earth could only spell disaster, someone like that deserved to spend their life locked away in a cold cell never to see the light of day again. That didn't sit well with him, a nagging feeling that scratched at the back of his mind and reminded the old soldier of the look in the Baron's eyes when he had been apprehended. What was it? Shame? Guilt? Sorrow? He wished he knew how to explain it but maybe the man himself would be able to enlighten the super soldier on the nature of their previous encounter.
Making a case for the release of Baron Helmut Zemo seemed like an impossible task but considering the man was essential in dealing with the Flag Smashers even Wakanda had to admit that the man had done some good. Yes he was an incredibly cunning, manipulative and clever individual, someone like him could cause all kinds of havoc but he had been helpful. Striking a bargain with them meant putting both himself and Sam on the hook for it, their word got them that far but if things went south it could also ruin any goodwill once held for them. It was a risk they both agreed to take.
The RAFT was the kind of place Bucky himself had believed he belonged in, a prison made for people like him. People with abilities who were far too dangerous to be held anywhere else and deserved to be trapped with no way to escape. Maybe that was why he was avoiding making eye contact with the guards, not wanting to see the fear in their stares looking upon a monster they had heard of from stories of his reputation as the Winter Soldier. Giving the occasional curt nod in recognition and thanks is he led to the cell, instructions are made clear to him upon entering and after a brief but stern warning is the brunet allowed inside.
"Thought I owed you an update." The centenarian doesn't put forward any pleasantries in the conversation, small talk had never been his thing. "Karli and the Flag Smashers are dead, suppose you'd be happy to hear that." Bucky doesn't have to ask if he would have been, after all to someone like Zemo the only good super soldier was a dead one and the Baron had already seen to it himself that others like him were killed. Arms folded over his chest and leaning against the wall opposite from the prisoner does he stare ever so intently at the other, waiting patiently for a response as careful track is kept on Zemo's expression.
