Wodom Pod (Final Battle Version)

I know I went off on a rant before about May being the first female main character to not have a feminine MS, and then they revealed her Mobile Doll, blah blah blah, but the way the Plus Armor forms a little bow on top of the Wodom’s head is super adorbs and I love it.

The Good: This is a surprisingly good kit. It’s posability is great, its very stable, nothing has tried to fall apart on me yet, the armor is easy to remove so you can easily display it in whichever form you want. I can’t really say anything bad about it.

I can say weird things though! There’s some really weird things going on on the back of this thing. Here, take a look:

So it’s got this opening hatch on its back, and the backpack portion slides backward to make more room. I don’t know what this is for, it doesn’t say anything about it in the instructions, and as far as I can tell it doesn’t relate to a possible standard Wodom release. I did use it to get that pic of May popping out the back, though. That’s neat.

You can see below the stabilizer fins, there’s a set of unused joint sockets (one on either side). Can’t figure out what those are for either. The standard Wodom has a more defined torso than the Pod, so maybe it has something to do with parts re-usage? I really can’t tell. There’s also a tab at the end of the back skirt that, say it with me, doesn’t do anything. I feel like there was something else planned for this kit that didn’t see the light of day, but hopefully might in the future. I’m going to buy a standard Wodom just to see if those get used.

The Bad: It could have used a set of holding-things hands so you could display it with other accessories. The kit is also not a lot of parts, just a lot of big parts.

Here’s a pic of the individual armor pieces.

The Details: Bit more going on here than the typical metallic green panel lining. Because so much of the unit is black, I didn’t want to use it for my standard fills (it being relegated only to the weapons, toes, thighs, and the armor back plate). I opted to go with silver, instead, with it being featured in the back skirt, legs, and throughout the armor. The eye is metallic blue, surrounded by black, with the area around that being done in the same paint mix as I used on May’s stripes (for consistency).

Overall, I have nothing bad to say about this kit. It’s surprisingly great, was worth the wait, and the one suit in the line that is (and should be) taller than May. Definite recommend if you’re looking for a good build and final product.
