DUDE i just realized one of my figures looks exactly like a sharpwing!!??
i named her originally after Zoya, one of my fav grishaverse characters because she has a dragon form (the form does not look like the figure tho, the fierce expression just reminded me of Zoya)
but now im thinking… should i rename it Nineteen…
Also, I've seen some people already talking about that, but THP felt very parallel to TDP?
Spoilers to THP plot below!
The villain is an angry, self-obsessed Skywing queen, cruelly ruling her tribe
Secondary villain, equal in power to her, is a bit quiet, intimidating, scary character often shipped with her.
Main character is a Mudwing that loves his siblings very much, doesn't feel like he's anything special or fit to the role he's given.
His main love interest is a slightly socially awkward, red dragon, could say a dragonet of the main villain Skywing queen. Their tribe has very strong feelings towards them and they have a very special power their parents take advantage of
The main character dethroned the main villain with the help of their loved one and acid-spitting rainwing
And possibly more, those just are the firsts I thought of
Gonna buy a second copy of The Hybrid Prince today when I'm gonna be at the bookstore so I can have one with the dust jacket on it while still being able to pin up the dust jacket poster on my wall, give me ideas for what to do with my naked extra copy of the book when I have it I want to be creative with it
PLATYPUS! chaotic Kinkajou!!! i hope they meet next book, or anytime honestly.
i gave her a poisonous barb, as they mentioned her face being alike to a sandwing- also, because male platypus have poison barbs. (shes not male but i thought it was cool anyway! and she does have poison in her claws anyway, so i thought she could so with some more!!)
gonna take a little break and work on some personal writing + drawing projects i hope to finish.

So did Tui make the Dungeon Isle just so tha fans can make crazy hybrids and tribrids (and so on) without feeling silly? Cause I love it
Also the Sharpwings? I love them. Little steampunk it/its dragons 🥰
And Dugong my baby!! Needs sibs and found Taipan and Royal but then he immediately latched onto the first dragon that was nice to him (Umber)
Platypus is like if Sundew and Kinkajou were meshed into a wonderful punk rock monstrosity
Quokka and Umber had some adorable bff moments
The Nightwing/Skywing queen descendant loophole seemed…. strange. At least how it played out between the queens. Maybe we will get more information in later books

OH also the parallel of the isle being a place to put dragons to keep everyone else safe mirrors how Umber felt about Sora at the beginning of the book. He wanted to keep the world safe from her
