people really need to stop expecting trans people to completely denounce their birth gender. Like no, I'm not a woman, but I was raised as a woman for the majority of my life, obviously I'm going to be connected with my birth gender. Obviously I'm going to want to use feminine terms. Obviously I'm going to want to call myself pretty and want to be called feminine compliments. Obviously I enjoy women's fashion. People always look at me weird or try to like enforce gender neutral terms at all times but to be honest I don't mind being feminine sometimes. It's part of who I am.
imo , reproducing tboy vs tgirl discourse not only further removes us from our commonality and community ties (which isolates us and makes our mobilization less effectual), but also reproduces boy vs girl dynamics that perpetuate the very gender roles in which we seek to abolish. tma and tme are useful terms, but ultimately remain just another category that relies on the idea that transmisogyny only affects tgirls, which in turn relies on the idea that "tgirl" is a universally recognized, hard-and-fast category. transing your gender is always going to be recognized as an act necessitating conservative persecution in and of itself--and some of you think nonqueer folk are far better at clocking not just visibly gender diverse folk, but also easily categorizing differences in gender identity for said folk and applying respective transphobic rhetoric on such a basis. tma and tme are more useful in 1) queer spaces where terf rhetoric specifically seeks out and targets tgirls and 2) political spaces where transphobic legislation specifically targets tgirls. but we must not forget that tma and tme, ultimately, are still contributing to essentializing categories that strip nuance from the complex lived experiences of real-life trans people.
Gender IS just a list of things you like #lvl9000woke #wokeryetwoker
btw why are influential women severely visibly underweight again, what happened? My ex had an ed it wasn’t cute, it was terrifying and since i was 13 and stupid i didn’t understand or know how to help and it really upset me because i loved my partner but they looked sick and their arms were just so scarily slim and i felt like there was nothing i could do to help,
i get people struggle with eds but when your putting the ed culture in front of young children another generation will grow up with that and it feels like its being pushed again which is scary
i love democracy
