So I’m writing a fic about my latest WoL, and I’m trying to figure her out because she’s so different from me.
I’m pansexual and poly. So are most of my WoLs. I’ve never had a character who is so particular about physical and/or emotional intimacy, and frankly I’m feeling a little out of my depth.
Azami feels attraction to both certain men and women, but she’s adamant that she doesn’t want sexual intercourse (yet at least), and feels genuinely only a friendly fondness for them. Nothing romantic at all.
A really quick doodle about Khaer and haircuts, after this one time he let Jandelaine loose, with the only request "just dye up the whiteness, yeah, do whatever"
(Arisu is the one responsible for setting up and reminding of all the appointments, because the others either will forget, or get too anxious (buit also forget, yeah))
they actually have backstory+lore to them if i can stop drawing memes...
Nephelai was the current(and last) Azem and Venat’s successor. She started off very eager about her new role, thinking she could use her newfound status and connections in Amaurot to help those outside the city in need- then grew jaded once she realized those in the capital wouldn’t bother looking outside their work/roles. Meanwhile, she put on a front towards those who came to her for aid, pretending no task was too great or out of her league.
Towards the end of the world, she started lashing out at everyone, then withdrew from society (trying to formulate a plan to save the planet), and then went insane as she realized how powerless she was from stopping the coming events from happening.
Timeline-wise, she and Sen will never meet- but I imagine she’d feel a great deal of resentment, as despite being sundered and having only a fraction of her power- Sen managed to save the world and those dear to her, whereas she didn’t.
---
Sen looks up to her past self a lot, based on whatever bits she’s learned about her (and the previous Azem).
The actions and doings of Nephelai towards the Final Days have been purposely withheld from Sen, as it is preferred that she be remembered as her original self.
---
Lukos was the assistant of the last Azem. A man of weak constitution and physically handicapped, he was tasked with handling Azem’s paperwork and filing. The both of them were good friends- yet he secretly harbored jealousy towards Azem being able to travel and see the world, while he was stuck in the capital of Amaurot.
During the Final Days, he tried to tell Azem that she couldn’t shoulder all the burden alone, but failed to persuade her to stay.
Died hoping that he’d be able to journey alongside his friends/be a hero in the next life.
---
Iorwyn doesn’t know about the existence of his past self, but if he did- he’d tell him that he turned out alright.
yello guess i’m playing through ARR on my alt, now dumping moro’a (my main Keeper WoL) thoughts into tumblr because twitter is terrible for keeping record of things previously posted
Moro'a's understandably devastated when he returns to the waking sands after titan...so many dead. he didn't hang around there all the time, but often enough to get to know some of the other scions better, like a'aba and aulie
His memories of how he left his home village in ilsabard after imperials ransacked it are still repressed at this point, so this incident doesn’t outright remind him, but he feels highly distraught and stressed out, all the way till alphinaud shows up at the church of saint adama landama for cid. all the busywork in coerthas helps to keep him occupied and calm him down, especially when he gets to meet a certain handsome garrison commander
addition: the whole coerthas business is initially frustrating as hells, guy just wants to find an airship and this whole heretics business is confusing and maddening. he feels bad for francel though, and genuinely wants to help clear the young lord’s name. maybe that’s what endears him to haurchefant from the beginning. as for the other way round, it’s heartening for moro’a to work with someone so warm and friendly, especially after the waking sands incident
So I decided 'twas time to bring Khaer into Aglaia, and
He was chosen :)
So now I can't stop myself from connecting this with him having been mentored by a Djt-Gilda and posed to become a bun of Heavenly Fire himself (but he had to fill in the position of Rehw-Marouc as the only close-to-finishing-the-training bun)
I had a thought today to doodle what my buns were like when they were like.. 10? Maybe younger? But ye, SMOL
And jxjsjcjsjjvjd
Arisu as a child was eventually forbidden from having bags or pockets because she used to bring whatever little critters she'd find in the forest or nearby river to the village. And the critters would either turn out to be poisonous/venomous (frogs or tiny little snakes), or would cause chaos anyways (birds, little fish...). But other than no longer trying to bring anything dangerous home (...if we discount honest attempts to befriend Sulking Skulk), she hasn't changed much!
...but Arjm (Khaer) was a very quiet kid who became this way due to being berated by his family (mother and much older sister) for doing Usual Child Chaos and making Usual Child Sounds. And at the time nobody in the village figured out that he didn't have lopped ears, he just was stressed at all times. So even though the Warder training he ended up in after "coming of age" (turning out to be a boy) was physically taxing, he finally had a Reliable Adult Figure in his mentor. But yeah, he used to be a very anxious and shut in baby bun
...anyways, I enjoy thinking about what my critters were as kids a bit too much
