I figured it was time i make a proper one!

I'm kae, he/him, 20+. i regularly post and reblog FFXIV-related things, including fic, which i write from time to time. everything else is an assortment of whatever catches my interest or jives with my vibes. i also post them on ao3, but sometimes i post stuff here that isn't shared there.

More FFXIV info: i mainly play as Moro'a Kihshimo on Kujata, Elemental server, but i also have alts in NA and EU. quick list below:

i think everyone who is worried about their skill doing content in ff14 should watch an ultimate world race. if you have ever felt like shit for not immediately understanding a mechanic you've never seen before, you will be Spiritually Healed watching the absolute best players in the world spend multiple hours and 20 pulls just to make it 25 milliseconds further into a fight. you will watch people just completely fuck mechanics that they have successfully done 30 pulls in a row for no other reason than they're tired and their brain shidded. no matter what your skill ceiling is, the trajectory of gaining competence follows pretty much the same arc. be soothed

For those who don't know: Ikumi Nakamura is the woman who was senior artist on Bayonetta, and designed the titular character along with Hideki Kamiya. Their greatest moment of bonding was over their insistence that Bayonetta keep her glasses on at all times. Nakamura cannot go to horny jail. She is the warden.

Most writers don't have a writing problem. they have a finishing problem. and finishing is its own completely different skill that has almost nothing to do with talent. finishing requires you to be okay with the thing being real, being done, existing in the world where people can have opinions about it.

And a lot of people would rather keep it unfinished and perfect in their head than done and flawed and out there. an unfinished draft can still be anything. once you finish it, it becomes one specific thing with specific failures that specific people can point to. so you keep tweaking. you keep saying it's not ready. you go back to the beginning again.

And the years pass and you are a person who is always working on something and never the person who made something. and those are two completely different people with two completely different relationships to this thing they claim to love.

It’s really refreshing and affirming to hear these words spoken by another human! Sometimes (often, if we’re being totally honest with ourselves), I feel insane for thinking that people should just be able to be friends with other people regardless of whether or not someone is married or they’re an opposite gender, without having to make it weird and sexual. huge fan of the depth of a good purple but another area that draws me is definitely around aquamarine/turquoise/seafoam. you can not go wrong once the green starts getting just a tinge more blue. a gal could certainly do worse than to pull over there and stay a while

it’s so fucked how A Malm in Her Shoes casually drops the fact that Alisaie was basically friendless throughout her childhood. And every recent attempt at being friends with peers her age has ended in disaster. Yet she’s still very kind and full of love and compassion. Like arguably she doesn’t even put up that much of a cool girl front bc it gets dropped really fast once anybody actually reaches out to her. She takes the hand every time! and it still slips out of her grasp!
