Some subspecies of grey wolf are illegal to kill such as red wolves and Mexican wolves. It is illegal to posses wolf parts in some states. Each state will have different laws, and it is your responsibility to know those laws. While wolves can be hunted here and in most of Canada, special licenses are required for anyone in Ontario to possess a wolf pelt or wolf parts.
