krystal x wolf? I've come across some fanart of them, especially whenever wolf calls her "princess"
I've also seen art for this ship, and while I'm not the biggest fan, I can't deny that all of it is very cute. Canon or not, I've always kind of seen Wolf is the partner who worships the ground his significant other walks on, he's dedicated in every sense of the word. Like, sure, he helped with Andross' attempt to takeover the Lylat System, and now he's the feared Lord of Sargasso with hundreds of criminals who work under him, but his partner is trying to talk to him, so he's busy, KYLE. This also gets just a few Star Wolf headcanons thrown in for flavor, sue me.
I also assume this ship kind of comes from Command, which I don't like. Only good thing that game gave us was Amanda and Lucy. My hatred of Command aside, I understand why Krystal was hurt by Fox dumping her and booting her off the team, she already lost everything she knew when Cerinia was lost, so your telling me, the man she loved and stood by for maybe 5 years to a decade, dumps her and rips it all away just like that? So, she's hurting, and in desperate need of stability, when in comes Star Wolf, with people who maybe aren't the most stable, but they're willing to give her a home, and will be her ride or die(I could write an entire post about Star Fox and Star Wolf headcanons, but that's neither here nor there). Panther is Krystal's biggest supporter, probably vouching for her in the first place.
But once Wolf and Krystal really have time to get to know each other outside of trying to kill each other, they hit it off. When Wolf isn't on a job and barking orders at his subordinates, I imagine he's very calm, and more than willing to hold Krystal's hand while she comes down from an anxiety attack because she's scared she'll get kicked off of Star Wolf for not preforming well. "First job jitters, Princess, we all get 'em. Ya' wanna know how I did my first gig out of the CDF?" Type stuff. Physical contact? Sure, not like Leon doesn't use him as a heating pad already, what's one more cuddle buddy going to do?
Once Krystal gets settled, really finds her stride and gets comfortable again knowing that it won't all be ripped away from her again, she laughs, like, really, really laughs. And Wolf falls HARD, my guy is whipped, tail wagging, blushing under all his fur, and he can't stop staring. God, he tried so hard to play it cool, Krystal's been through a lot, she's finally safe, and happy(but does HE make her feel safe and happy?), he can't ruin that. But, it doesn't last long because Krystal is quite literally psychic, and while I can't decide what kind of psychic she gets yet, she picks up on his feelings and confronts him about it rather quickly, and things go from there.
I see Wolf and Krystal being very stable, Wolf wants to keep those in his inner circle safe and happy at all costs, so in his inner circle and a romantic partner? Oh boy, if he can help it, they're not going anywhere. Krystal also comes across, to me, at least, as someone who's very good at communication, even if it comes off a little strange because of the whole psychic powers thing. I only really see them getting together post Command, so I will only dock 1 point for the age gap because Krystal's in her 30s by this point, and Wolf in his late 40s early 50s.
All and all, a very happy, healthy, drama free relationship at 8/10.
