It's out! After three years of research and writing, I've finally released my 364 page book on the lost constellations of Northern Europe. The book is packed with wonderful illustrations by my amazing wife Alex Wynn-Rubsam! Long before the people of Northern Europe had ever heard names like Orion or Scorpio, the ancient tribes of the Celtic, Germanic and Slavic peoples had their own unique systems of constellations and magic tied to the great shapes and phenomena of the skies. Sky Wolves is an exploration of the ancient Northern European sky lore that has almost been completely eradicated over the course of the past several thousand years. Each chapter presents a constellation in summary for the curious, then follows it with enough research and scholarly information for skeptics and passionate re-constructionists alike. The text is the result of years of scholarly research, designed and laid out in a way that makes it accessible to practitioners, researchers, shamans, and even people who just want a basic idea of what their Northern European ancestors saw in the sky before the constellations and myths of the classical zodiac all but erased the rich heritage of sky lore that we are, only now, starting to piece together again. ISBN#: 9781678141080 If you'd like to pick up a copy, follow this link: http://www.thunderune.com/2020/02/sky-wolves.html I've also included a brief snippet of the book on my Patreon for supporters at the $1 level. The short section on Patreon concerns the Norse god Thor, and the constellation that was associated with him. do you ever think about the future, like maybe there'll be a day when you're so consistently happy that you look back on days like these and think "that wasn't so bad" and eat whatever you please and sleep soundly..?
I doubt it. the worst part is that I'm not even sure if I want to... it doesn't feel comfortable, or safe. or worth it, even.

wolfshepherd replied to your post: If you could only choose 5 albums to listen to for the rest of your life, which do you pick?
Mogwai has over a dozen albums and you chose the right one
I'll take that as a huge compliment

nine
1. American teenage boy, not too short, not too skinny, not really attractive in any way. I guess my hair is soft, that’s a plus.
2. I want to be an ambassador when I grow up. I hope to go to college to study International Relations. If that doesn’t work out I would like to move to Morocco and teach English there.
3. I am interested in becoming an ambassador because I want to explore the world and work for peace. There’s too much fighting in the world right now and it’s unnecessary.
4. I am a “other before me” kind of person. I would sacrifice my body for the good of the team if that is what is necessary for a win. That is a sportsman’s way of looking at it but I care more for others than myself. Every part of the team must function together and in harmony to work correctly and at it’s best. I can’t stand people who believe they are better than the rest of the team or the team is their sidekicks.
5. I look up to, in no particular order: Frank Ocean, Nelson Mendela, Mahatma Gandhi, Martin Luther King, Jr., Evan Jager, my grandparents, and my middle school social studies teacher.
6. I am a photographer without a camera.
7. I love sports, physical activity, and outdoors. I am a member of my high school’s cross country, basketball, and track and field teams. I hope to be on the cross country and track and field teams in college too, along with the cricket club. I run the 3000 meter steeplechase, mile and 800 meter in track and field. I'm not ranked in anything but I did go to the county championships in the 4x800 meter relay, and I've had my school's 2000 and 3000 meter steeplechase records since eighth grade and freshmen year, respectively.
8. Paradoxically I have trouble getting myself out running. I can dream all day and night of running and going to championships but I find it hard to get up and go. I think if I was somewhere else where I didn’t know every place I would run all across town to find where everything is, and this would motivate me to run.
9. I value my close friends more than anything. They are family to me and I do not know what I would do without them. They make my life so much better every day.
I hope this was good enough.
