sentence starter: ❛ do you mind if i sleep here tonight? ❜
"Do you mind if I sleep here tonight?" Thancred asked, "The Master of Suites lent the room next to Ryne's to a very amorous couple, so she's sleeping in my room. I would have taken the couch, but I wanted to get work done and she needs her rest."
Urianger tried to keep his face even as his mind raced. Rowan had been taking the opportunity to sleep in his room while she spent time on the First. If she had appeared after Thancred, they could have played it off as just visiting for a late night cup of tea.
But she was currently curled up in the bed. Thancred hadn't seen or heard her yet, but that would all be for naught if he entered the room.
"I was actually planning on retiring ere you knocked, Thancred." A simple lie would be the best for this situation.
Thancred looked at him askance. "Really? This is early for most people. This would be more like a nap for you."
"Ah, aye. There are certain early morning constellations that I wish to view and it would not do to stay up for the entirety of the night. Broken sleep will suit me better than no sleep." He hoped that it would be enough to trick his friend.
Thancred shrugged. "Very well, I'll find elsewhere to rest my head. Good night, Urianger."
"Good night, Thancred." Urianger almost sighed in relief.
"Good night, Rowan," Thancred called.
"Wherefore didst thou bid Rowan good night? She is not here." Urianger quickly said.
"I saw her rush to the bed when you opened the door. That bit about the constellations was a nice touch, though."
"...night Thancred," Rowan said, defeated.
Thanks for the prompt! I was worried I was going to be too on brand for this one, so I went a little silly with it.
