[OOC: This is a fanmade gimmick/RP blog meant to portray the fictional deadly carnival from the musical, Ride the Cyclone. We are not affiliated with the actual show or its creative team.]
-A guide to each character who posts on this blog can be found here.
-This blog’s version of Wonderville occasionally deviates slightly from the canon show due to the limited information available and some background worldbuilding that has gone down as a result. If you pay close enough attention, you may just catch a glimpse of an ongoing storyline!
-The version of Uranium City this blog “takes place” in is a heavily fictionalized version and is not meant to be taken as an accurate depiction of the real town.
-This blog features multiple narrators/characters “running” the blog. There are two authors.
-The timeline of this blog is deliberately ambiguous and free-floating. I kind of operate on a time loop theory.
-The askbox is always open, and I’ll generally try to reply on time. I’m completely down to interact with existing ask blogs or rp blogs, but since this blog doesn’t represent a specific character, 1:1 RP isn’t really a doable thing. ]

Prompt 13: Carnival
Saturday night, December 6th in Brooklyn 🙂↕️✨
Haz, one of my good friends in this music shit, and I will be going b2b for an hour. Preparing for this set got me real excited!
Riso fan's fan art
I posted a while ago that there's an office at my company that randomly has a free print studio with a riso printer. I was slated to go to that neck of the woods again, so you better believe I demanded everyone at Arcade Commons and Wonderville give me things to print.
I love all these games and places, so even though I didn't do any of the actual art (besides adjusting some colors for riso), I like to think of these as kind of fan art for them. And since I'm also a riso fan, it's kind of like a riso fan's fan art.
Since the creators are distributed around, I’m handing these to AC to hold as a kind of central storage/distribution point. But it’ll be up to the creators to decide what they want to do with them (keep em, use them as tournament prizes, sell them at MAGFest?). So if you want one, keep an eye on their various socials I guess? (And if you are one of the developers: surprise/enjoy!)
I'll try to credit everyone, but might update the post later if I got anything wrong or left anyone out. Apologies in advance.
Wonderville 6th Anniversary Commemorative Print
This art is by Jackie Vecchitto. The original is black and white; I threw a gradient on just to have an excuse to use flo pink.
As I printed these, I found that my original smaller sizes didn't look as "riso" as usual--they almost looked like a normal printer. So I redid them, hoping a larger size would help, which it sort of did. But I think I could have had an even better output if I hadn't used black ink for this--either gone with some dark color blended from two or three non-black colors, or just done 2 totally eye-bleedingly different colors like yellow and flo pink. Still, there's some nice halftoning and registration errors that make it look more riso.
Dyebreaker (game by Walt Mitchell, art by Ramsey Haefner)
Dyebreaker is inspired by screen print art, so of course I had to print it. With ~6 hours to go before I had to leave, I begged Walt for the in-game posters, and he delivered.
If I had more time, I would have liked to tinker more with the colors of these to make them really bring out the vibrancy of riso ink. I think Face is the most satisfying, combining flo orange and flo pink for some very satisfying eye-bleeding intensity.
For the next 4 pieces, Chris Hernandez arranged them for riso. For some reason they photographed less vibrantly than IRL. Such is the plight of riso printing.
Hoverburger (game by Nick Santaniello, art by Chris Hernandez)
Ziggurat of the Titan Beetle (game by Andy Wallace (@andymakesgames), art by Chris Hernandez)
Kick Kick Boom (game and art by Chris Hernandez)
Nightmare Kart Commemorative Arcade Cabinet Print (game by @b0tster, original logo by mino (art-mino on bluesky), AC remix and riso formatting by Chris Hernandez)
Celebrating the launch of the NMK cabinet. Love that there ended up being exactly 13 of these.
Particle Mace (game by @andymakesgames, art by Terence Tolman (twtdip on socials))
This art is from quite a while ago, but I thought it would be fun to revive as a print, since Terence's design and colors are so vibrant and dynamic. I had to play with them a bit in post to get the riso to capture it all well, but hopefully I did them justice.
I learned a lot on this trip and already have some ideas to make even better and cooler prints when I go back. I also might be in the middle of assembling a DIY riso-ish printing setup in my home, based on the excellent DIY mimeoprinting how-to posted by Rachel Simone Weil, so I’m not limited to using flo pink when I’m on the west coast…
I love riso!!!!!
screencaps from my tour visuals + some of my pics from the shows. had a great time in Toronto, Montreal, Troy, and back here in NYC! looking forward to getting some more of this recorded.

There's a Tough Love Arena cabinet at Wonderville in Brooklyn.
I played a ft2 against a friendly stranger and won, but it came down to the wire.
I feel like we all should oughta play more Tough Love Arena; it's free online and runs on basically anything with a web browser. With Good Rollback. toughlovearena.com
Here's Duncan the main dragon. He's a sweetheart. He strives to stay positive and see the good in everyone and everything. Even if they don't deserve it. This leads to problems because sometimes Duncan can be a bit too nice, making it easy for people to take advantage of his kindness. He's also a bit of a door mat since saying no is a big challenge for him. Duncan is also an aspiring writer and he works at the local library. At his core Duncan is a gentle soul,he truly cares for his family and friends and does his best to be there for them no matter what.
