We welcomed the new Congress by leaving this BOLD message in their morning newspapers!
This fight to dismantle women's rights because of a politician's beliefs will cause a devastating a ripple effect that will force women back to an era of subservience. Defunding Planned Parenthood won't just do take away money, but without access to these services women's lives and many of their sexual choices are essentially being controlled by the government. It will serve as a message to women to "stay home" instead controlling their lives, their futures, their bodies, and their reproductive health.

Booker's office said the Senate historian was unable to find any previous instance of a sitting senator's testifying against a fellow sitting senator.
Senator Cory Booker will make history & testify against Senator Sessions during confirmation hearings, saying, “These are extraordinary times & they call for extraordinary measures."
Moscow Sen. Dan Foreman said the bill will be 1 of 4 he plans to introduce in the 2017 Idaho Legislature session. He believes charging both the mother and the doctor who performs the operation with first-degree murder would be a first in the nation.
This lawmaker wants to charge women who have abortions with murder. We say NO! We #WontBePunished by politicians who want to shame us, bully us, or put women and doctors in jail.
Anyone who has been paying any attention knows that 2016 has been something of a dumpster fire. With the election of Donald Trump and other anti-choice politicians, we're facing a potential nightmare for feminism and reproductive rights in 2017.

Day 12
Support the EACH Woman Act!
What is this legislation all about? The summary from All* Above All
Congresswomen Barbara Lee (D-CA) and Jan Schakowsky (D-IL), alongside Pro-Choice Caucus Co-Chairs Diana DeGette (D-CO) and Louise Slaughter (D-NY) and 100 other members of Congress reintroduced the EACH Woman Act with the support of 82 women’s health, rights, and justice advocacy organizations.
The EACH Woman Act makes a meaningful change for women and their families, creating two important standards for reproductive health.
1) the bill respects that every woman should be able to make her own decisions about pregnancy. If a woman gets her care or insurance through the federal government, she will be covered for all pregnancy-related care, including abortion.
2) the EACH Woman Act prohibits political interference with decisions of private health insurance companies to offer coverage for abortion care. Federal, state and local legislators will not be able to interfere with the private insurance market to prevent insurance companies from providing abortion coverage.

Anti-women lawmakers want to permanently ban abortion coverage, making us even more grateful for champions like Mazie Hirono who are committed to ensuring all of us can get safe & affordable abortion care!
Rep. Steve King (R-IA) introduced copycat legislation that failed last year in Ohio. King's anti-choice bill would amount to a total ban on abortion care nationwide.
BREAKING: Rep. Steve King introduces a bill that would ban nearly all abortions. We #WontBePunished by anti-choice lawmakers who want to bully us & interfere in our personal decisions!
