The base is a wooden disc. The fairy garden is approximately 2.5-3 inches in diameter and 3 inches tall. Each garden is hand made and is not meant in any way to be used as a toy. It can be used as a tabletop accessory in almost any room. Please keep the garden out of rooms that hold a lot of moisture. Avoid touching moss as it may harden and flake when touched. Please handle with care. All fairy/gnome gardens are wrapped in bubble wrap and shipped in appropriate sized priority shipping boxes. Quick little weekend diy shop build. Needed to reinforce the bottom of my router table to add casters. Also needed to raise it up as the old base basically crumbled off. Decided to make this very simple wooden platform that will have two pull out drawers and I think it will work perfect. My daughter gave me the assist on this shop project. I predrilled all the holes and she was the head driller. Very happy to have her out here with me this morning. I ended up picking up this cool dragon piece a few years ago from someone on OfferUp. Didn't like the base, it was painted MDF and had dents and markings on it. So I decided to make a new base worthy of it from a cut off piece of walnut I had. I sanded it up to 320 grit and applied some Osmos matte finish.
