Bora was already sitting inside the car as she waited for them to arrive at their destination. Having taken a different car with her driver as her parents had ordered her to, she sits inside the car with her phone in her hands as she watched the scenery outside. So much has changed since they last met. He wasn’t going to be the same boy from her childhood memories or that guy who she ignored at school. He would probably be a man now. But that doesn’t bother Bora. After all, his parents like her. From head to toe, she was a gift from heaven to them. Just as her parents think Wooju is a gift that’s ben sent from the above and boy, how wrong they were. Bora knows that, of course. No one ca tell her and Wooju otherwise. They know each other. A lot more than others do. Sometimes Bora wonders if that is a valid reason for her to marry Wooju someday. Because she’s sure as hell that their parents won’t shut up about it.
Arriving at his family’s residences, Bora steps out in her pink dress and white cardigan which she paired with lace shoes that his mom gave, or as she claims, are from Wooju. She doubts it. Why would Wooju bother buying her a gift? Really. Both their parents were already there, enjoying some tea and light conversation when she walked in. Placing a hand over her chest, she bows to them in greeting for her arrival. “Has Woou oppa arrived safely yet?” She asks while holding her Chanel clutch and her phone. “Have a seat, dear. Wooju hasn’t arrived yet but he will be here soon.” His father tells her. “ Miss Bora, where shall we put these?” Referring to the paper bags that contained the gifts for his family. “Please keep them aside for now. I don’t want to give out the gifts with Wooju oppa not being present.” She smiles and her comment causes both their parents to smile and nod, obviously pleased.
“Would you care for some music while you drink tea?” Bora asks, turning her body slightly to the direction of the piano. “I can play a few pieces while you have tea and we wait for Wooju oppa.” They nod and his mother claps in glee. “Our daughter-in-law is so feminine. How can anyone look so pretty and be so talented?” The two mothers exchange glances over the compliment. “Play us some music then, my daughter.” Bora bows her head to them as her father seems to be in a good mood. Taking her place to sit down in front of the piano, she takes a breath before placing her fingers lightly over the piano tiles. “I shall play Waltz of the Flower from The Nutcracker, by Tchaikovsky.” Gently pressing them and soon the flow of music comes out, filling the house with harmonious music as they wait for Wooju’s arrival. This was out of habit, her covering up for Wooju and her using Wooju as an excuse when she needs to. But now that she’s doing him a favor. He owes her.

day number? mark had lost count of the days since the festival began. not that it was long, he was just not good at keeping track of anything. the festival had been going relatively smoothly for him, it was quite nice. but only relatively- as in there were a few small bumps, but for the time being mark decided to ignore those memories.
strolling through the sidewalk littered with petals and leaves made him feel at ease. the flowing crowd of visitors felt almost fluid, like running water down a creek. mark felt swept around by the crowd at just the right speed, not too quick, and not too slow. the bright sunlight against the cool breeze was addicting. mark had never wanted to stay somewhere for such a long time. he could smell the faint scent of flowery bulbs and the snacks that were being cooked in the distance, saw the different shades of pink and green as he passed a few cherry blossoms, felt his fingers slip into an unknown man’s pockets unmeaningly.
god damn it.
shocked at his own actions, mark stopped and stared at the unfamiliar car keys in his hand. what was he thinking?- he probably wasn’t. it was almost impulsively that his hand reached out and so easily plucked the keys out of their owner’s pocket. he silently scolded himself, running back to the man that he presumed owned the car. he could tell who it was from the crowd with a glance. the car was expensive. a high-quality brand. and there was only one man who seemed to dress like he was rich. how annoying.
approaching the man from behind, mark tapped his shoulder. “hey, i think you dropped this,” he said, before trying to hide his sudden surprise. even from his profile it was easy to identify the man as kwon wooju. mark distinctly remembered him from highschool. (and their recent encounter at the bookstore) but mark stood by his words. because wooju really was so annoying.

“In case you’re forgetting, I’m older than you. That makes me your oppa! You should be listening to me.” “And just in case you’re forgetting, all I have to do is say yes to your parents and I’ll be your wife.” “But you don’t even like me!” “I like your family and your family likes me.”

In their younger years, Wooju and Bora have always had that reverse role. Sure, he’s as charming as a prince and she’s perfect for being the damsel in distress but truth is that Wooju has always been the one in distress. They met as young kids, their mothers being the inseparable best friends that they are who swore that if only one of them was a guy, they would've gotten married thus making a promise they will have their children marry instead to make them a family.
Meet Bora, the daughter of Lee Ha Na. Promised to Kwon Wooju. Dog lover and a princess of her own castle but definitely not a damsel in distress. The only girl who doesn’t hesitate to put the so-called Prince back to his place.
Meet Wooju, the son of Kim Eun Seo. Promised to Yoon Bora. Doesn’t like dogs and definitely a Prince Charming minus the brave part. The boy whose image turns from cool and charismatic to a total mess when Bora comes into the picture.
It was a surprise when Bora came home after an ‘emergency’ call from her mother. She comes home, only to see her mother and Wooju’s mother having tea at the garden. “You’re having tea. How is this an emergency?” Bora sighs, bowing to the two women and taking a seat with them. “How is it not? Eunseo told me that your future husband just came home!” Bora furrowed her brows. “Wooju oppa?” The two ladies gasped in pure delight. “You accept it!?” Eunseo asks. “No, auntie. It’s just how you two always address him.” Bora sighs.
“My son-in-law must’ve had such a hard time overseas.” Her mother clutches on her chest. “For sure. He’s not as strong as my daughter-in-law here.” Wooju’s mother takes Bora’s hand. Bora can only smile. “I’m still not marrying him, though. He’s.. just this weird oppa.” Bora’s mother then wags her index finger at her. “Not when you see him at dinner later.”
With this confirmation that they will be meeting again, Bora groans loudly. “Dress nicely for him.” Her mother continues. “I'll see you at our house later for dinner, my darling.” Bora smiles at Wooju’s mother and nods. “I’ll leave you two to chat for now. I’ll have to return to work in after I shower and change clothes. I came here straight away when I saw the text message.” Bowing her head to leave, the two women sigh in unison.
“Wooju and Bora will have beautiful children someday.” Eunseo comments. “Bora will make Wooju realize how lucky he is to be born.” Hana chimes in and they toast with their tea.
