This-- this isn't the first time Solariel has had this done to him, but it is an infrequent enough occurrence that it hurts. A lot. In the Council's halls, he had done his best to save his dignity by remaining quiet, accepting his punishment head on, like any angel should.

The cries he allowed to escape clearly stirred some concern; that is exactly why he should have kept quiet.

Sol's intent was to make it back to his personal quarters to tend to his wings, still stained with blood because he was stupid enough to flinch as Asher's axe came down upon him. The procedure is painful for an angel regardless, but normally, it is not meant to be messy. Now he looks and feels even worse off, and it's entirely his own fault.

He does not make it to his quarters. Solariel ends up leaning against the wall with his wings pressed tight against him, and a few moments later he slides down to the floor, quivering.

"Who did this to you?"

The voice comes from behind -- Joryu. He wasn't present to watch it happen, is he really stupid enough to be asking that? What else would have happened to him?

Solariel tries to snap back with all the frustration he feels right now, but the words don't pack nearly the punch he intends, "isn't it obvious? I just-- I need to deal with this alone. That is what I deserve. Now leave me be."
