There were few things Lucius loathed more than reporters. Journalism was not a respectable profession at all -- everyone knew that money was what decided what truths were printed and what were swept under the rug, after all. His father had demonstrated that when Lucius was so very young, and the death of his mother never managed to feature in any articles, despite the Malfoy’s very public image. Still, the Daily Prophet and the people who wrote for it could be useful tools in political scheming, if one knew the right buttons to push and joints to grease.
Lucius, of course, knew both. He had spent his lamentably small amounts of free time looking into one of the newer staff-members at the paper, a young woman he remembered vaguely from Hogwarts. She had not shared a House, nor had her family been one that Lucius had heard of; therefore, Rita had been too far beneath his notice to pay much attention to. That had begun to change, slightly, as she began her career at the Prophet. Her ridiculous gossip column had turned up at his Ministry office more than once, his coworkers milling around it like children around a habitat at the zoo, and her name came up quite often as someone who wasn’t afraid to write anything, whether it was blatantly false, outrageous, or brought unwanted attention.
That had piqued his interest, but Lucius wasn’t foolish enough to think it was enough for what he wanted to do. So he’d done meticulous research on the woman: he read every column, or at least skimmed it; he spoke to his associates within the Death Eaters, gleaning any information they had; and finally, he’d brought up the name at the last society function he’d attended, all to hear the same thing. Rita Skeeter seemed to have no morals, when it came to writing, and would serve his purposes nicely, so long as he could get her to cooperate.
And that was why, one late afternoon, when Lucius should be at home, preparing to attend yet another dinner in which he and his father would stare at each other across a table made to accommodate twenty, he was standing in the entryway of the Daily Prophet, his lips pressed into a thin, disapproving line as he watched the staff members scurrying about like swarming ants. Thankfully, it was a simple enough task to locate Rita Skeeter from the nameplate on her desk, and Lucius stepped forward, his long, dark cloak swirling about him dramatically. He had purchased it simply for that purpose, though admitting it aloud was something he would never do. “Ah, Miss Skeeter,” he said, announcing himself more than greeting her. “You know who I am, I presume. Is there somewhere we might speak about a . . . matter of mutual importance?” He eyed the people around them trying to maintain a guise of activity, though were really trying to get close enough to overhear. “Privately?”

When Kabuto repented and swore allegiance to the Leaf, there were a few times I approached him for help. Of course I thanked him and he said that what he shared with me were from Orochimaru's teachings.
It made me think if I can mix in some knowledge from Orochimaru's research with the Medical ninjutsu I learned from Tsunade-sama.
Seriously, there were some of Orochimaru's research data that really helped the Research Team at the hospital, especially subject matters involving genetics, healing techniques and cell regeneration.
For a while, I considered approaching Orochimaru to learn from him. Or request the Hokage to make him the department head of research at the hospital.
