Fanfic List (mostly Shizaya)

Hey Guys!

I finally decided to make a fanfic list on my own! I will list mainly Shizaya fanfics in this list but also cover a few others. I will cover amazing authors in general, some actual recommendations for finished and unfinished multi chapter fics and one-shots. I do not stick to one genre, so this might also cover some really violent or kinky stuff that might contain rape, torture and I do not know what. So even if you go to the fic, please first read the tags that the author left or just ask me about it.

Now I definitely do not cover everything that I have ever read. There is way too much for that but I’ll try to cover the ones that moved me the most. For now, I mostly refrained from listing any fics where I had the feeling that they might not be continued. However, I would be thankful for any recommendation that you guys think is missing here and definitely needs to be added (also if you are a writer and you think your own work is missing). If you think that one fic should not be listed for whatever reason,I will also talk about it. I want to build this up with time and intend to add more and maybe make it a bit more organized at some point. So give me whatever ideas you have. I’m also not sticking solely to Shizaya, so you might as well recommend fics that contain other drrr pairings.

I will just start with some amazing authors:

Spoontasti :Now a lot of you probably have already read A Cheap Imitation where Izaya and Shizuo end up on a deserted island just to have to fight for their lives in a sick game à la Battle Royale. Personally I’m also a huge fan of Add Attachment where Izaya starts sending nudes to Shizuo anonymously and Shizuo kinda gets worked up in this little game ;) Whereas ACI has been finished, AA is still ongoing.

Shirohimesstories: I really love this author! She is covering a lot of different settings and I would say every single shizaya story should be read :) My personal favourite is Sinful Desire where Shizuo and Izaya are Incubus and I guess you already know where this is going ;) Problem here is you never know with her if it’s gonna be a happy end or everyone dies in the very last chapter. So beware!

Izayas: To be honest this author has produced mostly one-shots but the writing style is amazing and every single line is a blessing! I’m mainly covering them because of the fic april 23rd. This fic left me emotionally devastated for weeks. I think I never cried reading a fic but the ending of this managed to turn me into a fucking baby. Honestly, approach with caution if you love the drrr characters!

LegendOfMajora: To be honest, this author hasn’t updated in years but if you are fine with reading some really nice works that haven’t been finished (and probably never will be) you should check it out. I’m pretty sure you can find everything from fluffy to kinky to angsty and I promise you, you will never get bored. Personally I really loved the fics Edge and Tedious

ThreeBs: I am in fact not sure how many of you know this author BUT if you don’t you gotta stop everything you do right now and check them out! This author has a thing for poetry and you can tell! Sometimes when you read their stories It’s like being in a different universe! I can’t even start to explain how amazing literally everything about this author is! I really recommend checking out The Anatomy of a Camellia (god already the title gets me crying once I knew the story). But in general check out everything this author leaves on your dash!

Astroenergy: I’m not sure whether this author needs an introduction but I can tell you the writing style is amazing and the characters are so convincing that it’s scary. I highly recommend Mutual Consent which is a rather angsty rape au but intriguing on so many levels. So if you are not faint-hearted, go and check it out!

Twyd: This is an amazing author who does mostly one shots! I just love their writing style <3 Start with Caught Out or Snapshot and then see where the journey takes you! Also this author has a few other pairings like Shikizaya ;)

PendulumDeath: Again someone most of you probably know. Now this author has a lot of angsty and kinky stuff but also sweet and fluffy stories, so I would really advice to always read the tags first (naturally this goes for all stories that you find). Personally, I’m really intrigued by Blind Fury which does contain Rape and the Aftermath of it. Tbh by now I mostly make my way around too angsty or violent fics but this one kinda stuck because the author just gives some hints here and there what Shizuo actually feels about Izaya and what Izaya actually feels about Shizuo but it hasn’t been openly stated yet and the fic is 115 chapters long by now and everyone is waiting for the huge revelation that with each chapter seems coming closer and closer.

thejillyfish: So I’m absolutely positive that most of you know To Hell and Back. Hence, this author shouldn’t be missing here. The story has followed me for years now and it’s just one chapter away from being finished. Also check out the author’s other stories ;)

caffeinekitty: This author also has quite a few stories. I personally really liked The Truth Shall Set You Free where Shizuo gets a truth serum from Shinra and is forced to say the truth. Of course this has to end in a ridiculous situation once Izaya is involved! I also really liked What You Don’t Surrender which is a quite unique story since for once Shizuo is the one getting raped and Izaya cannot deal with the change of turns and starts taking revenge for his favorite monster much to this one’s horror. Now, the rape scene isn’t exactly written, it just comes back to Shizuo in flashbacks. Hence, the actual aftermath of the rape and Shizuo’s recovery are way more in focus. It also contains Izuo to the end of the story.

Tastewithouttalent: there is absolutely no need to introduce this author. How To Feal Real is the current Shizaya Cyberpunk AU that you might start with before you check out the author’s other fics and get lost in Shizaya heaven!

Rukazaya: Again a famous author who has quite a lot of kinky and rather violent fics that also don’t just stick to Shizaya BUT there is also some super sweet stuff that will make your heart bleed. I personally really recommend Catnip where Shizuo is turned into a cat and has to live with Izaya just to get to know his good side. It’s a love story that deserves being made into a movie in my opinion ;) Also I do recommend checking this author out if you would like to read some stories about the Shizaya alternates!

ThiefofWords , bpdizaya(ThiefofWords): I’m a little confused if these are actually two different authors or just one author who posts under different names. Anyway, I can’t even explain how much I love Second Chances are Stronger than Secrets. Like the title says Shizuo gives Izaya a second chance at getting to know each other better. And oh boy, do they get to know each other!! There are so many awesome hot scenes in this that will make your mouth watering ;) Another one that has been really intriguing me is the Stargate Project where Shizuo finds a girl with psychic powers who brings a lot of trouble with her. You can guess three times whose favourite Information Broker develops some nice powers of his own ;)

Denrinko: Now this author doesn’t actually write Shizaya! The main pairing is Izaya/Mikado. I read the fic Accomplices first since it had Shizaya as a tag just to figure out later that the main pairing is IZMK! Well, I guess that’s how I found out that I can read any Izaya-related fic lol Anyway, the writing style of this author is amazing! So, if you’re not just Shizaya centered, I would really recommend checking the author out!

Chocha_Hochiko: Now I guess if you know this author it’s for the story Private Lessons which is a nice Highschool AU that slowly builds on the shizaya pairing by Izaya giving private lessons to Shizuo. And oh boy are they sweet and innocent! I also really love Carmine Coffee where Shizuo is a barista and Izaya is the perfect boy in university who is also working as a model. Of course, Shizuo has a nasty inferiority complex and there is this other guy who might steal Izaya if he’s not fast enough ;)

Markovia: Now this author should also be widely known. I personally recommend A Good Deed which is a series that starts before ketsu and also covers the time afterwards. It made my heart break at some points and also made me want to punch Shizuo in the face but it’s definitely worth checking out if you can deal with some angsty stuff. (I can also recommend the author’s other stories though I’m a bit confused about something here: I could swear there was a story called Knock Out which was also set post-ketsu, where Shizuo started fighting in an underground arena because he couldn’t deal with being a murderer. When Izaya returns to Tokyo, he’s perplexed and angry but definitely wants to do something about their relationship. HOWEVER I cannot find the story anymore (and I was subscribed to it) which makes me think that the author probably deleted it. If anyone else noticed it would be nice to leave a remark. Maybe I’m also a littles stupid…)

redroses100: This author has some nice Shizaya stories :) My favorite one is Get Along With the Voices Inside My Head, is a Behavioral Hospital AU that puts most of our characters back into highschool age (I guess I don’t have to explain why most of them need some help). It was really nice to follow and Izaya’s and Shizuo’s developing relationship is amazingly written!

Weirdxyz: Now this author also has a few very well written and in-character stories. My favorite one so far is What’s the big Deal? where someone takes a photo of Izaya kissing a man, rumors of him being gay spread like a wild fire and suddenly whole Tokyo is shipping Shizaya xD I can also really recommend Vivid where Shizuo almost kills Izaya by accident and is then plagued by horrible nightmares that are slowly changing their behavior towards each other.

GinHoshikuse: The story The Worth of An Apple got finished. It’s pretty much about the shizaya relationship changing into something better :) it might get a bit angsty or kinky here and there but overall it’s a nice setting and Shizaya have some nice interactions :p definitely worth being checked out! The new story Deal With A Monster is a Highschool AU and also had a nice start :)

Delphicy: Unintentional Affection is a story where Izaya and Shizuo are in a kind of “enemies with benefits” relationship but Izaya eventually gets bored and wants to make Shizuo fall in love with him by being all sweet and sending nice gifts. Nothing could go wrong, right? I also really love Mezhdu Dvukh Ogney (Between Two Fires) which sadly didn’t get finished though.

S.miyuki: Freudian Slip is the start of a amazing row of one-shots. During a fight with Izaya instead of shouting his usual “I’ll kill you” he shouts something entirely different which basically ends in the whole city supporting Shizaya all of the sudden. The story is very well written and just hilarious! Some proper analyzations of their personalities don’t come to short in this story. My personal favorite are the discussions about Shizuo’s experience in sex xD The sequels are The Suspension Brick Effect and The Triangular Theory of Hate

Hands to myself by peppersnot: Where Izaya and Shizuo are in a developed kind-of relationship and make a bet about who’s gonna last longer without kissing the other. Naturally, this gives us some quite funny and sweet moments of them :)

No One’s Servant by SareBear69: This is a crossover between DRRR and Servamp where Izaya is being kidnapped by Shingen and turned into a servamp just to be forced into a contract with Shizuo out of all people. I LOVED this story! I need a little more stories where Izaya can actually fight on his own XD The development of Izaya’s and Shizuo’s relationship is also quite funny~ You do not need to have seen Servamp to understand it but the Servamp characters appear too. So you might have a little more fun reading it if you watched the anime before :)

House of the Rising Sun by ShannynFaucheux: Izaya ends up in prostitution at a young age and even if he eventually found his way out of it, it left scars that will never heal. The work is amazingly written and very poetic, which makes the angst and heavy atmosphere so much more heart-breaking. So if you are faint-hearted, you should probably skip it. However, there is a sequel to this with You’re the Deepest Ocean (which isn’t finished yet) and the author already promised in the tags that a happy ending awaits you. So check it out if you can deal with some pain ;)

I’m Not Your Hero by Prustian Informant: Izaya safes Kasuka without intention and people start going crazy about his selflessness. Even Shizuo swiftly changes his attitude towards the raven. This story is hilarious and to the end gets a very possessive Shizuo and fruity smut ;) If you are interested in the Shizaya alternates, the author also has quite a lot of stories for them!

Vitriol by Kreativekilljoy: A prison AU where Izaya ends up in the same prison as Shizuo. At first the raven is sure that the blond will take revenge on him for sending him to prison but he soon discovers that Shizuo already has other plans. The tags might scare you at first but I can ensure you that neither Shizuo nor Izaya get raped. There’s the threat of it but it fortunately doesn’t happen. This story is truly unique since there aren’t many shizaya prison AUs out there and this one is really well written! I really adored the scenes where Shizuo couldn’t help but act cute with Izaya <3

Now here come some stories that haven’t been finished yet:

The Faults In Izaya Orihara by Nubi_monbebe: Izaya decides to stop his cat and mouse relationship with Shizuo and instead makes him fall in love with him to end the monster forever. It’s unfortunately on temporary hiatus right now but I really adored this story. It contains one of my favourite scenes ever and I’m still dying to produce some fanart for it. Imagine Shizuo being fucking awkward because Izaya changed his attitude and instead of talking to him like a normal person, he climbs up Izaya’s fucking building to watch him through his office window like a goddamn stalker~ Lovely I tell you ;)

Serendipity by AppleCiderr:. I just love fics where Izaya ends up changing because he has to take care of children. In this fic Izaya finds a baby in the rain and adopts it much to the surprise of literally everyone else ;) The author also has a lot of other DRRR fics that I recommend checking out !

A Mistake that I’ll never forget by HaloKarouKey: basically Shizuo being desperate, searching for a nice fuck on tinder and matching with Izaya! Well, I guess you know where this is going ;)

Nothing by KitVin: Shizuo finds out something about Izaya that finally shows him the human side of the raven and changes their relationship forever. This fic is dealing with rape and the aftermath of it, so be warned. However, I really adore the way that Izaya is hurt but at the same time can fight like a badass! Also, Shizuo is a sweet cinnamon roll if he wants to ;)

Love Like Winter by princesssparklesparkle: This is a highschool au where our lovely boys go on a school ski trip and let’s say Izaya’s and Shizuo’s relationship takes a nice little turn ;)

A Twist of Fate by AbstractIdea: This one is rather new and also the first work of the author but OH BOY ITS GOOD!!! So far the characters are really convincing and I just LOVE how little dialogue there is to highlight what the characters are doing and feeling <3

Curious Case of Yagiri Siblings – Shizuo by malna: Now the title of this story might seem like it’s actually ShizuoxNamie. It does in fact start as such but it is an absolute Shizaya fic! Hence, the start might seem a little confusing for most BUT I do assure you this fic gets better with time. Just some time ago it reached the true shizaya part and bless it, it’s absolutely amazingly written and Shizuo is just too cute to be true! So if you haven’t read it yet, catch up with it!

Dear Sad Eyes by Kurgy: This one is a nice AU where Izaya is a vampire and makes a mistake which leads to Shizuo finding out his little secret~ This author also has some other nice shizaya stories that I can all recommend!

A Rather Monstrous World by TsukimotoMana: Now I cannot express how much I love this story! However, it is unfinished and was last updated in 2015. If you have no problem with that, go right ahead! It’s pretty much a historical war AU where Izaya is a normal citizen in a country resembling Japan and Shizuo is part of the evading troops that will hold his people captive. The development of their relationship is amazing and it’s breaking my heart that the fic stopped updating at a point where it got super interesting :’(

Can’t Live Without You by IReallyHateViolence: This is actually a series that starts with the story No One I Love , To be honest I do not know how to explain this story to you without giving too much info about the content. Let’s just say it’s Shizaya, the idiots fall in love, then the bittersweet angst starts that might leave you crying and the second part of this story can be considered part of the Post-Ketsu list.

Post-Ketsu fanfics:

A Traitorous Heart by ChrysanthemumVow: Shizuo is on suspension from work and does a favor for Shinra by accepting a job as a bodyguard for one of Shinra’s friends. Of course, Shizuo doesn’t know that he would end up working for Izaya. This fic is so amazingly in character! It’s pretty much taking place in the Izaya novels just with Shizuo around (well , quite naturally there is no Sozoro Densuke lol) but there’s Himari and Haruto and just everyone and everything is so convincing in this fic! I really recommend checking this out!

Hearts like Ours by sachi-sama: This is a post-ketsu fic paired with a soulmate au and it’s just so so GOOD! The characters are amazingly written and it is just lovely to follow~

The Sunrise of Orihara Izaya by PenPalAiryn: After Ketsu Izaya is crippled and starts a new life in Osaka where he wants to change himself and starts working for a new company with new people. He eventually ends up in Tokyo again and has to face his past. I can’t tell you much without giving any spoilers BUT this fic is amazingly written and above all the characterization is lovely. Even though there is a lot of angst with Izaya’s new situation I love how he got to change thanks to new people around him that actually care about him. Give the Informant some love <3 The Shizaya part just started, so I really recommend to catch up with it ;)

The Past Unleashed by MiyukiWynter: This one is technically a post-ketsu fic but instead of concentrating on the whole Shizaya relationship with Izaya being in a wheelchair etc. (what is here not the case, Izaya can walk), it concentrates on the aftermath of rape that Izaya had to endure during high-school. It’s pretty much about the guy from his nightmares returning to him and Izaya sees no other way than to get Shizuo as his bodyguard. Naturally, their relationship starts to change. This fic does cover some heavy topics and is not for the faint-hearted.

Drown in Ashes by veivei: Now this is probably one of the most depressing fics I have ever read. Shizuo kills Izaya in their final fight but after his death Izaya is offered a chance to come back and try again. Now this fic does contain Shikizaya and Shizaya, rape and murder and it is definitely not for the faint-hearted. Who wants a fic where Izaya lives happily ever after should probably not start this but if you are interested, it is very well-written and the characterization is also very convincing. The fic has a sequel with Stages of Grief which is also the end of the series :)

Your Beast by ShiHeTsu: Izaya suffers great memory loss after the final fight in Ketsu. Physically disabled and not being able to remember anything, his sisters eventually find him and bring him back to Tokyo. Shizuo who doesn’t believe a word about the memory loss swiftly decides to monitor Izaya to see whether the pest is lying. I just love post-ketsu stories that contain angst, love, smut and the general inner turmoils that arise once these two idiots notice that they actually might not hate each other <3

What They Capture by bushyeyebrows_99 :This one is far away from ketsu. Shizaya are about 40 and already have kids (no MPREG), It’s about their parenthood and how they are dealing with it. It’s absolutely lovely I tell you. The writing style is amazing and the established Shizaya is the most heartwarming thing you might get in a while (and no their kids are not their alternates). It’s technically part 1 of a series, so I recommend checking the author out and waiting for what else awaits us ;)

One-shots:

I apologize beforehand for not covering too many one-shots! I did read a lot but since it’s one-shots I normally leave a like and a comment but do not subscribe (I know I know), so I don’t really find most of them again in the online universe of fanfics.

Paroxysm by anonymousgratification: A row of events starting from highschool time when they first met to their time in Ikebukuro and show how their relationship changes from hate to something entirely different. What I admire about this work are the emotions that lie in between the lines and as a reader you can grasp what is going on but neither Shizuo nor Izaya is going to say it out loud.

Made A Fool Out Of Us by izanyas: This is hard to explain without giving too much away of the content. It’s Shizuo x female!Izaya and rumors are spreading that they broke up and suddenly Izaya finds herself in a situation of new enemies and potential lovers. This author has a lot of other Shizaya stories and is definitely worth being checked out ;)

Time Tells by Klappy: Where Shizuo travels back in time to meet with child Izaya and get to know his lonely childhood. Later on, their realities fuse again to turn into a better reality for both of them. Very cute and heart breaking! Izaya and his lonely past is definitely something that sparks strong interest in me :)

The Definition of Hatred by Alice (Red_Rosepetals): Where Izaya dies and Shizuo has to deal with the aftermath of it, analyzing their previous relationship between the extremes of love and hate. Very sad and short story but I loved it nonetheless <3

I Feel Naked by animeg098: I liked this one a lot! Izaya gets frustrated because Shizuo ignores him but doesn’t think twice about why. However, he is going to find out once Shizuo just shows up in his bedroom one night ;) This fic contains Incubus!Shizuo and Virgin!Izaya and is quite fruity ;)

Unexpected Intrusions and Consequences by xytera: Izaya attempts to enjoy a rare night of privacy until Shizuo barges in on him while he’s in a rather compromising position. Another fruity fic where Shizuo takes the initiative of a lucky situation ;)

A Baser State of Nature by Neko-chan -Silvered Tongue: Shizuo is a kind of wolfman caged in a zoo. He drowning in self-pity and hate for children that are mocking him on a daily basis until one raven-haired boy shows up and shows real interest for Shizuo’s human side. This story contains Beast!Shizuo and Shota!Izaya and also some sexual interactions, however the general setting is really cute at some points. It’s technically not a One-Shot since there are 2 chapters but I wished there was a whole story to this since the idea was so amazing <3

Growing Pains by UmiHinode: This fic is short but it didn’t need any more words. It portrays the feelings of Shizuo’s mother about her son growing up over the years. Everything from concern, love, regret and finally salvation in the form of Izaya is mentioned and it’s just really sweet to read. The author also wrote the series The Story is Eternal which contains quite a few one shots that portray different relationships in Drrr!! and how they develop. You can of course find Shizaya but also Shincelty, Izanamie or Namie x Vorona. The writing style is lovely and once you have read one, you might start to care for the other characters too and how their love life turned out ;)

Russian Roulette by emillywinter: Technically not a one-shot but two chapters: Shizaya are forced to play russian roulette and end up doing some fruity things~ DELICIOUS!! The author has in general some amazing works like Entirely Human. So I recommend to check out the others too ;)

Sacred Book of Oneshots by 123FuckMeStreet: Like the title says, these are different chapters which each make a one-shot. They are not all Shizaya either. But they are nicely written, the first one almost left me crying while the second one was a really funny and kinky thing ;)

Twists and Turns by Animeangel1798: This one really stuck with me. It does contain Shizaya and Shikizaya but ultimately ends with Shikizaya. And oh boy, the feels !! The angst! I just loved this fic and would really recommend to read it! My hope is that one day it will get a sequel where Shizuo will get his ass kicked lol I’m also following Claimed by the same author which is quite the angsty soulmate au but solely Shizaya this time. However, you should check the tags first.

Wet paint dreams by Icestar74: Where Izaya has a secret crush on Shizuo and paints all the faces of his beloved he will never see. However everything changes once Shizuo enters his apartment without permission ;)

For those who really like Shikizaya too, I recommend to check out Camorra AND OriharaInfobroker. Both are not only covering Shikizaya but in general our beloved Yakuza boys. You can also find some Shizaya and other pairings :) Personally I really liked Sex and Violence by OriharaInfobroker which is a crossover AU between DRRR and Vampire: The Masquerade and quite kinky~ For those who have time and are open for other pairings besides Shizaya I recommend checking out both !

Another update of the fanfic list! Special thanks goes to @weirdxyz for suggesting the works by S.miyuki. Her own works are also on the list, so check both authors out if you haven’t yet :)

Sadly I’m currenty quite busy with exams and working hours. Saying no time for me to read too much fanfiction :( so the next update might take a while. Of course, I’m still taking recommendations and I’ll also answer PMs etc. Just posting might be a little rare the next 2-3 weeks.
