What do mages wear? Robes! What do robes look like? Not bath robes!
The semi-formal everyday robes as well as the traditional cloak with lapels are inspired by graduation gowns.
Traditional robes are worn by higher ups at the Ministry of Magic and also the most important and wealthy magical families who take pride in their status (the Malfoys, the Blacks excluding Sirius)
Casual robes are the only robes with lengths shorter than knee length, so they can be more like tunics. They’re more fitting for physical professions and activity like sports and the like
Inspectoling, the Surveillance Borderling. With its many eyes, it watches over other Borderlings. Witnesses who touch its feathers will have the knowledge of the Borderlings it has seen. It is responsible for ghost orbs sightings.
So I may have gone a bit overboard and developed a whole philosophical framework a la Wuxing/4 classical elements (for those of you who like me don't have the patience for long rambling posts would you be interested if I did a sort of elemental spotlight series of post?)
anyway ignore that this was made in powerpoint (i will make proper art at some point but Im a bad artist and it takes me time, too much for 1 day)
The idea is there are 3 elements each with its 3 stages in a cycle. The stages are forced on the element by the 2 other elements. 1st stage is the element at its most primal, untamed form. 2nd is what becomes of it through contact with the other elements, the element at its weakest. And 3rd is the element "taught" by the others how to return to its form. The 3rd form is the element at its most impure but also at its most "useful" where it can actually interact with others. To quickly sum up:
Thunder is the element of pure destruction, when given life it becomes fire, which must be taught stability by wood to become heat/light - transformative destruction.
Stone is the element of stability and stagnation, which gets weathered into earth which must be taught the ability to grow and change to regain its stability becoming wood - the element of structure.
Wind is pure untamed movement, it gets condensed and stabilised into clouds, which must be taught to sacrifice themselves to become the element of purposeful movement and inner change - water.

Okay so moving to words: maorū > tiki > rei
maorū - thunder from mao "sky" and rughu "to scream"
I loosely translate this word as thunder but I imagine it covers other loud destructive natural phenomena like earhquakes and volcanic eruptions. Here I only had the idea for one derivation but theres a bonus adjective: rū - loud from rughu so thats neat.
namaorū - to be destructive, literally bringing thunder
Fire was already a word I had made, and I already had an adjective from it so I'm mostly leaving it be. I am however adding a new phrase "ota tiki" - from fire, which means achieved through sacrifice.
rei - light/heat, it also can be a verb meaning "to be hot". Which also carries the metaphorical meaning of being disruptive, however with far less negative connotations, more being about bringing about positive change. From it we also have reile'e - to be ineffective and rīse - to be heat resistant, to be slow to accept change
Second trinity: tei > tao > teiloa
tei - stone, to be made of stone, can also mean solid, unbreakable. From which comes: teitea - stubborn and lahīatei - to hide ones emotions (from lahīa "face" - lit. stone faced)
tao - earth, here I have only one adjective hē'ao - to have potential
teiloa - wood, bones from tei "rock" and lao "to grow". It is also a verb meaning "to be wooden" or "to be steadfast and principled"
And third triad: osā > maopo > lao
osā - wind, air. Also "to be incapable of sitting still, inpatient" or "to be directionless"
maopo - cloud from mao "sky" and po "hill". With the lovely adjective maopotea - to be cloudy (as in opaque) and to be lazy, unmotivated, directionless. Oh and also ota maopo "from clouds" – achieved by focus and direction
and last but not least lao - water, with the adjective laotea - watery and to be flexible, capable of change
Also I set up some other basic adjectives
ira - to be angry
rosi - to be friendly, evolving from meaning "to be safe", also giving me a nice new word for home (rosē'i). This one is derived from my lovely dogs name <3
shai - black
pai - white
nea - to be silly
nanē - to be funny (from same source as nea + na "to bring")
hē'ikei - to be happy (from kegh- "to have x" + bigey "fruit")
'aso - sad
lūito - to be optimistic
I also want there to be lots of adjectives (and phrases) coming from nature but im leaving that for later
If your realm's most infamous saying was "Locked away in Eraklion’s golden chains" you know it lives in a world far from what is considered common or classical in Magix Universe.
Eraklion is nothing short of beautiful. A realm where riches are hidden underground deep in the mines and endless caves. Gold, silver, copper, platinum truly the source never goes dry. All hidden beneath coniferous forests and occasional oaks trees. What is truly breathtaking is the famous poppy meadows that one truly finds peace even in the coldest of days on the Planet.
Snow is common and so are cycle of seasons. The heat there will never burn your skin as it rarely goes above warm spring temperatures. Only on island of Isles, home of the royal family represented by Hepatic tanger possesses warmer climate thanks to being positioned closer to the Suns of Magix. Isles were once part of Eraklion's kingdom but after partitions both royal lines remained allied and kept the planet peacful...at least they tried.
The only other planet belonging to Eraklion's realm is Hoggar knowing for the best smiths in the Magix. The armor that will be forged will last centuries and withstand even attacks from Ancestral Witches.
Capital bares the name of the planet. The grand palace is impossible to miss. Home to the current royal family, Blaukehl. The dynasty that has been ongoing for seemingly centuries and only became less and less popular as the war carried on. Once highly respected house slowly lost its position due to high taxation and idiotic ignorance that came from need of protection.
As Domino fell so fell the last drop of respect toward Witches. The ongoing slaughter wasn't anything new. Eraklion easily hid his disdain for witches whose trails never truly stopped until Domino had requested it. The axe had been buried only to be dug up with more ferocity as the Home of the Great Dragon collapsed. Erendor in his cruelty either exiled, deported or simply killed for lack of compliance.
Many Domino's witches who found refuge now found themselves in chains. Eraklion hated king for such vast decision and could never truly forgive him for that level of cruelty.
Poppy fields which once represented every solider that fell in the battle now represented the unnecessarily spilled blood on its meadows.
Havram was the hottest spot during the war. A first place where each meeting occurred and where the peace treaty for witches was signed. It's mountains range provided natural protection and harsh winds made it impossible for weaker fighters to enter the unfriendly realm.
Augherm was a home to Eraklion Institute where fairies were taught strict discipline, politics, basics military training such as piloting a ship or usage of heavy weaponry. Fairy wasn't supposed to just rely on her magic. They had to rely on their skills in order to survive.
Only princesses could be dismissed from the classes in order to attend more royal protocol training and etiquette classes.
Thavar is the home of the last royal family the House of Eisvögel represented by Kingfisher in their herb and by their relation to current ruling family. Has the thickest forests and majority of the are wideleaf ones. The terrain is perfect for horse riding but so is excellent for the thieves to hide within the trees. Prince Thoren is Prince's Sky cousin through his grandmother who was a sister and a mother to Sky's mother the current queen Samara. Many belive that Thoren faisl to represent values of his house hence why he was send off to Linphyea college for Palladins: The Brosimum Academy.
Sky hadn't attend the Hoggarth College either, the famous school that had seen and raised within its walls every noble house at least at some point in history. Instead Sky for his safety and per Brandon's suggestion has been attending Red Fountain.
The secrets within palace are of no joke and aren't something to be easily swept away. You need to hide something? someone? It just might be the only place in the realm to do so. Nothing escapes it. Every document will be burned, destroyed and no whisper will eave its walls until the perfect version has been forged. Within the riches the realm hides its ugly side where nobles are forced to reach impossible standard of grace, elegance, image and education while the poor struggle on the streets and stealing, kidnapping or worse trafficking becomes a daily occurrence.
All hidden behind the golden gates.
May no one ever learn what hides behind traditional values such as arranged marriage and why does King and Queen let no one speak of one candidate in particular.
How much in-game time will pass between Book 1 and Book 7? Counting down from the first meeting to the epilogue(?). As I understand it, the first 3 books is about 1 year?
I really hope that I was able to write this clearly, it's just that English is not my first language. 😅
Your English is incredible and very clear!
As for your ask, it will be years, yes. Not sure how many, but definitely years.
A rough tally concluded with 13, with varying levels of development. Seven or eight being simply a single grammar table or a few vocabulary words.
That being said, my most developed projects to date are:
1. Kobunese - an Indo-Aryan inspired a priori lang spoken mostly by anthropomorphic lions. Perhaps my most experimental one, as it has variable VSO - SVO order, and ergativity mixed with a complex volition system.
2. Unnamed Gaulish lang - a Continental Celtic conlang based heavily off of surviving fragments of Gaulish. Embellished with a heavy amount of a priori cellar door-isms.
3. Wrari / Wawari / Saporan (name pending) - an a priori language inspired by Dravidian and Hindustani languages. One of my most adventurous ones, as it is VSO, includes polypersonal agreement, and a distinct animacy and volition system.
