Anyway, I’m 17, almost 18. My birthday is almost here. It is so bizarre how everyone just grows quickly, it feels like I was 8 yesterday playing with my Gameboy. Remember those days, where everyone was just playing with their DS or Game boys. It is weird how time just flies by. I am currently studying BTEC Health and Social Care Level 3, I adore that course but it’s hard-working and the personal development is incredibly boring. Let me explain the personal development, it is writing targets for yourself and what do you need to improve on, etc. It is such a drag. However, I am almost at the finishing line of the course. I am excited and scared to be finished. I am scared because I do not want to leave college to go to the outer world. I want to be young again, no responsibilities. Aaaaaaah.

I am profoundly deaf in both ears. I have a cochlear implant on the left side of my ear and it helps me to hear. It is very annoying how people think that I got a hearing aid and at of all sudden, I can hear everything like an ordinary hearing person but that is not quite true. When I am communicating with a hearing person, it may be difficult at some times but if it is in a quiet situation and they are very easy to lip-read then it won’t be a problem. If it was in a loud situation then it is extremely difficult for me to hear what they are saying or they are extremely difficult to lip-read. I had ups and downs throughout my life of being deaf. I wouldn’t say I am proud to be deaf. I do not know why, I just cannot bring myself to say to someone, “I am deaf.” There are most times that I want to be hearing rather than being deaf.

Hobbies. I don’t think I have anything. I always watch TV series or films. They are my biggest obsessions. I cannot go on a day without watching any of it. I don’t sit myself in front of the screen. *Whispers* I download programmes, films and watch it on my laptop - does it count as sitting in front of the screen? I do like doing sports: volleyball, skiing, badminton, etc. But I don’t do it. Hiring a court or going to skiing are so expensive. Living on a limit money sucks big time. Obviously, everyone wants to be rich. That would be lovely. If I was rich, I would give lots of money to charities and make differences in people’s lives and travel the world. I have been to Florida (three times, I know), Andorra, Bulgaria, Paris, Menorca, New York, Cyrus, Tunisia, Barcelona and Rome. Seriously, I’m not rich. I received fundings from the holiday charities (Happy Days, Family Fund, Norfolk Deaf Children Society and Deaftastic.) Those countries, I have been to was unbelievable amazing.

I don’t know anything more I will say about myself. I don’t think I am that interesting. *Laughs* Seriously, I’m not.
