WEDNESDAY’S WEEKLY POETRY PROMPTS: 2/18/26 ~ CLEANERS
CLEANERS ©️ 2026 - G. Smith (BMI) =================== They cleaned me out, Took every last red cent, To this day I wonder, Where the money went. Every last dollar, Every last dime, Every last thing I thought had value, That I thought was mine.
They cleaned my clock, They waxed my behind, And the only good thing is, At least something would shine. They ran me over, Ground pounded me down. As soon as I’d made it to the top, They turned me around.
Try as I might, Can’t get nothing right, Can’t keep ahold of anything worth keeping. Can’t do it alone, Can’t do it on my own, Can’t get to sleep when I should be sleeping.
He cleaned my heart, He restored my soul, He healed my life, He made me whole. I was sinking, So deep in sin, But He cleaned my heart, When I asked Him in.
