very much annoyed at work and for once it’s because i know what I’m DOING and people keep on insisting on telling me what I already know!!
we record our weekly meetings because, despite having these so fucking early so we can have all of North America and Europe on, our Asian team can’t come bc it’s too late at night for them. we’ve been using this old video chat system for these calls bc we need to record them for the Asia team, but our company’s slowly integrating this newer program. and now that it’s been announced that we are able to record meetings on the new video platform, i’ve gotten multiple people being like “DID YOU KNOW WE CAN MOVE OUR WEEKLY CALL OVER TO HERE??? PLEASE ARRANGE A TEST FOR THIS!” like DUDES!
1. I knew before you because I’ve been recruited into this launch!! You can see on our internal IT page that I’m a part of this group that gets all the intel on this switch over to this new platform. I’m literally one of like 2 people from the SF office who is on there, it’s not a big list. I knew 2 weeks ago!!!
2. I have talked to my boss - WHO IS YOUR BOSS - about this already! We are BOTH aware! We talked about this before you got the message today!!! WE BEEN KNOW!
3. Even if I didn’t know, I would’ve seen the very same message you did, so it’s not like you’re telling me news!
4. There is a REASON I didn’t make the switch already, because we’re concerned over the capability at the moment of uploading these files since they’re very large and we haven’t completely integrated the system that would make it automatically upload! We want to test it first since there are concerns about downloading times and then uploading it or finding another way to share it!
5. I ALREADY have tests in place before we move over! You don’t have to tell me to do it! My boss and I are aware of the issues we need to sort out first! We would not do this blindly?!
6. I don’t know shit about finance and what they do. I know this. But I’m a fucking admin, I know what I’m doing when it comes to this stuff. You don’t have to tell me how to do my job when it comes to this!
