The streets of the Archimedes Ward are small and narrow, with tight spaces and long, winding alleyways. It’s a place that isn’t built around transportation by large vehicles like cars, prioritizing narrower footpaths over large stretches of asphalt. It makes for a very unique-looking landscape, everything structured in a way that is just so different from what Peter knows that he wanders the streets with wide, curious eyes, like a fascinated tourist.
But in a strange way, that’s sort of what he is though, isn’t it? It’s not like he lives... wherever this is, he just suddenly found himself here. He doesn’t even remember how it happened. One might think that being transported to someplace so clearly different from home would be more memorable, but apparently that’s not the case.
Here, it’s like he took a very abrupt, impromptu trip to Greece. Or... Greece, but off. There are definitely things here that aren’t quite right. Case in point: the bird that just landed upon the overhang... or is it even a bird? Instead of a head, there’s only a speaker. Peter stares at it for a very long time, convinced at first that it’s a moment of confusing perspective, but no. It’s actually a bird with a speaker for a head.
He blinks very hard. The ‘bird’ is still there. Nobody else seems to particularly care or notice; Peter glances to a random passerby before immediately turning his focus back to the creature, as though unwilling to take his eyes off it. Feeling a little like he’s going crazy, he makes a vague gesture towards it and asks, ❝ ...Is that – real? ❞
@workaho1ic, okay, this is definitely not normal. / ♥
