❝ if that was the case, i would like to have a little chat with the fairy godmother, ❞ dorm leader responds to the effort of lightening the situation. it was challenging to not have his unique magic in the way he wishes it to, but this place has proven to be far more challenging than that just his predicament. ❝ they have a castle in the city where they often host gala’s for the people here, ❞ though facial expression betrays his last gala experience as a ‘ noisy creatures ‘ is muttered under his breath.
though the query caused him to pause before he spoke again. had he really enjoyed his time here together with those that found themselves in the same predicament as he did? there were plenty of good memories created here. some willingly, others not so much. like the one time when he got forced into a cat and mouse game with rook hunt due to yuu’s lack of discretion, causing them all to find refuge in jamil’s apartment.
still, he could not help but to see jade’s gaze wander to the ceiling. it isn’t often the eel avoids their gaze. ( ‘ how curious ‘ ) azul thinks to himself. with a quick wave of his hand, tea pot and tea cup begin to float, pouring the freshly made tea into the cup. before it is gently placed back on the table again. an invitation for him to join him as he reaches for his own tea cup, a hint of a smirk tugging at the corner of his lips.
❝ if you say so, ❞ he merely responds. ❝ i do not think i have changed all that much. ❞ if anything the place has only forced him to be more crafty than he has ever been. deal with people he normally would have avoided. perhaps the twins’ search for entertainment had rubbed off on him during their absence. but perhaps he also found himself doing things he normally would never do because they hadn’t be at his side.
turning to face the vice dorm leader, azul starts once more. ❝ and what of you? have you scared off your roommates already ? ❞ he wonders out loud. he almost felt sorry for the people have to share a room with the merfolk. almost.
"Galas? Hopefully not the dry sort where all the guests walk on eggshells.” Those were just the sort he was used to but found no fun at all. And by the light twist of Azul’s face, it wasn’t the fondest of experiences. “I’m sure they’ll be of use eventually.”
Attention back on the casual display of magic, he can’t help but hum in wonder- how long until his would return? More concerning was the lack of wand; collecting blot would be an issue. Reaching for the freshly poured tea, Jade blows against the steam, watching it fog his view of Azul until it parts again.
“An observation, that’s all. It’s difficult to notice change as it’s happening; it’s more obvious when seen all at once.” A testament to the time that must have passed since the start of Azul’s end of this predicament. His own curiosity burned at what sorts of scenarios this island had in store. With so many of their classmates localized here, it couldn’t be so off from daily life. Yet from how the lounge had been built up again, it seemed that here was a place that Azul seemed fine with settling at least for the time being. Rather than withdraw into himself, perhaps the octopus had done the exact opposite.
He could practically hear the mirth dripping from Azul’s words, the turn of his mouth hidden by the rim of his cup. And a chuckle at the accusation that he’d begun terrorizing people so soon. “You give me too much credit. There’s not much scaring to do without a roommate to begin with.” A sigh while he shakes his head. “It’s been absolutely lonesome without someone to keep me company. You know the feeling.”
“I could ask you the same question. No binding contracts formed with your roommates? Or have you been quarantined as well.”
