Story Time

Some of you may know I started a new job recently, or guessed since I’ve all but vanished from Tumblr. We’re in week 8, still in training, and HR comes in today to have a “talk” with us. Apparently we’ve been having issues and a bunch of people know. Whoops.

A short list of our indiscretions include:

-Sexism (I reported that one, much longer story.)

-Racism (A white kid in our class likes using the ‘n’ word.)

-Homophobia (Apparently someone keeps telling everyone else I’m gay. Shocker, since I told everyone already.)

-Bullying (Probably)

-Exclusion (Definitely)

-Workplace Relationship

Basically, the HR guy puts a packet in front of each of us and we read it together. It says that all this isn’t cool for various reasons and they’ll be having specific conversations with each of us over the next couple of days if there’s a specific issued with us.

But before HR guy left he did clarify the last one for us.

“About the rumor that one of your coworkers is sleeping with someone from another department, we’re gonna say that one’s okay since they’ve been married for six years.”

i applied for 9 jobs....now i wait....

Except my boss is totally going to ignore it and praise me for some damn feature story on a 5K next week or something anyway, so WHATEVER. I apparently sit through nine hours of testimony about a dead two year old and listen to his mother sob on the stand for the fun of it, doncha know.
