One more day til the weekend and my body’s running solely on coffee at this point.

So I drove three hours home yesterday after working four days in a row because my best friend was supposed to be having a baby. She was induced Monday but still hasn't had the baby. I was supposed to be working tonight but asked if they could cover it so I could stay up north and wait for the baby arrive. They couldn't cover it so I had to come back without seeing the baby (that still isn't born). Some dickhead sprayed my car with rocks on the drive home so now I have to pay $150 to get my windscreen fixed. Then the girl at work took a 50 min break instead of 15 because she 'got talking' to someone. I also had to be the messenger between her and her ex because neither of them will talk to each other. I'm working 9hrs tomorrow, day off Friday, then working three days, then probably driving back up north for a funeral and also hopefully to see the baby (who will hopefully be born by then). I feel like I haven't had a second to breathe. Also ready to kill someone.

so about 6 weeks ago, i started a new job. part of what i do is monitoring the australian media and reporting on what’s dominating the narrative here.

i send off every report with a written-and-deleted memo promising i’m not making this nonsense up, we really do harp on about the same stories for this long. pinkie promise i’m not copy and pasting to avoid doing the report, it’s just really hard to make it sound different.

i didnt grow up on australian news, we’d just switch over for the weather. how do you people watch this? no wonder dad raised us on bbc and le monde, then switched over when they got to the sport so we’d catch the weather.
