i started going into a proper rock climbing gym as well as my uni's boulder gym. i went there for the first time last week, with my beloved and our other friend who's so nice and touch–friendly. and we have such good camaraderie, we whip each other with the rope ends playfully, help each other out — they explain everything to me and they do so in a way that doesn't make me feel stupid at all, and i can ask about every little thing —, and they're both so knowledgeable, comparing techniques and knots and gear.
we all have a similar sense of humor / playing with each other. so they just randomly pick me up, we wrestle each other and slap each other's butts in the air. they are both taller than me, so they pet me on the head and we compare hand sizes, saying lovingly how small my paws are. and i get praise when i push myself and my fear of heights. i cleared a route i wouldn't think i could climb. it took me a long time, but i managed it.
at the end of each session, we go and do pull ups to tire ourselves out completely. i can only do two so far, and they need to help me reach the bar because it's quite high. but they still hype me up and push me to do at least the half of the third one, when my arms are shaking and my whole body burns.
