WORLD KNOWLEDGE WEDNESDAY #2 - Magic and Mana
Today marks our second World Knowledge Post, and In light of our most recent character reveal, I thought it would be fitting to introduce the different types of magic. As well as the definitions of what Magic and Mana are.
Mana - Is the innate universal energy given off by all things.
Magic - The art or science (depending on how you look at it) of harnessing mana and channeling it in different ways to achieve different effects/desired results.
There are many different types of magic that are unique to certain characters, so Today we’ll only be detailing basic types of magic that everyone can learn.
Elementalist Magic - Magic centered around conjuring and wielding different types of Elements (fire, water, earth, wind, lightning, light, darkness, and spirit, etc.)
Barrier Magic - self explanatory
Healing magic - self explanatory
Augmentation Magic - using mana to bolster physical capabilities (increasing speed, stamina, strength, and other various effects.)
Alchemy - A type of magic centered around transforming or changing something by magically breaking down and reorganizing its molecular structure. It is a very complex form of magic and very few have what it takes to master this ability.
That's all we'll share for today! Please check in again next week to learn more about the world of Shikon :) and please share us with your friends and followers!
Where's Leah?
Leah has emerged from a pile of e-manuscripts on her electronic desktop (is this possible? ed.) to scope out the challenge gloves thrown down before her.
'It's important for writers to get the best out of Caladria that they understand not only how the world works, but also the production requirements needed to get a story finished on time and to brief.'
Leah sees the need for new authors who want to try their hand at creating history on Caladria through their tales. 'The volume requirements we have on our year planner means we'll need plenty of pens, so please spread the word to your friends.'
'OK, and, following on from there, we need to generate a stream of new and exciting stories. Remember that Caladrian stories are not just fantasy, but many different genres - romance, mystery, thriller, even detective - which happen in a fantasy setting.'
Leah's happy to look at story ideas, but they have to bubble up from a character or place (region or settlement) that exists within the Compendium. 'That's part of the training that I'm putting into place for the editing team. Think 'Caladria' first.'
Lastly, Leah admits that one of her biggest challenges is to prevent herself from getting hot and sweaty (I think you mean 'glowing', ed.) about not only the next issue of Fab Fables but the first steps into franchise development.
Hahaha
Your judement on shippings and sharing your shredded and dry opinion, WHILE making a broken statement,ALONG with obvious grammar mistakes...makes me laugh..at your...stupidity. >:) Even if the world is nothing without Out-There opinions, can we at least make them with a purpose, meaning, and good grammar? Thank you! (:<
