A short story: King of Darkness Aftermath, Part 1
As the machine sounds thundered outside Canterlot's already battered walls, a young filly of 3 walked beside her mother in its great halls.
"Mummy, what is politics? " Nebula asked innocently, still hugging her Teddy bear.
"That would be your uncles and aunties, and that annoying Twilight stealing your daddy's fair share of the Equestria's pie." came the reply from the mother.
"But Mummy, if a monster steal the pie, then no pie for all!" The little filly now hug her mother's leg, stopping her in her tracks.
"..." Crimson sighed but Nebula pressed on, "Forgive Granny? Pleaseeeeeeee?"
"I don't know..."
"Pleaseeeee?"
"Just for you." Putting the little filly on her back, Crimson sighed heavily. "Well, I don't want this world to be destroyed. But first.. Mummy have things to do. You better do your homework kiddo." She nodded to a nearby Kobold knight, putting the filly under her care. "Take the Princess to her Daddy. I, Crimson Sparkle will make things right."
With that, the alicorn made her way into the secret quarters. She was determined to change what seems to be a unwinnable situation.
If that meant meeting her old foes, then so be it...
