List of In Browser Map Generators for Worldbuilding

I put together a list of map generators for my less cartographic-ly inclined worldbuilding friends. These are a great place to start, (or even take inspiration from!) When I was starting out I found myself studying maps and tracing over them to learn the shapes. That being said these are great to photoshop and alter once you've generated them. If you are wanting to learn to do Cartography professionally do not use these as a crutch.

I've included freshly generated maps then the same maps edited by the software's tools. It's important to note that Watabou's and Azgaar's generators have SO MANY options. Once you learn them it will completely change how you generate your maps.

Also you can totally use these for any genre.

From my knowledge Donjon has no editing options BUT it has so many other generators for names and genres. Also look at that, it's rather impressive ain't it? Can't complain when it's free.

Caelum's Finished Ref Sheet

Caelum works as a chef on the OA-Serlucia. While a seemingly background job he manages the kitchen from 2nd shift and 3rd shift. He also plans the meal menu weeks in advance for all 4 shifts of the Serlucia. He is additionally in charge of preparing political meals when fit.

While perfectly a capable chef he initially applied to be a surveyor, or even a brute on the Serlucia. While performing if not better just as well as other applicants Captains Avicorti and Esmide determined his health conditions would be a risk to others on his team if he were to be assigned to a group and have complications during a mission.

Captian Esmide instead requested Caelum come on as a trainer for new recruits. Thus which he spent a joyous 5 years making rookies cry before expressing interest in taking up the kitchen as their previous head chef reached retirement. His experience with his families restaurants allowed the captains to easily transition him.

On a side note: the ranks of the Head Chef's exceed that of every adventurer's rank while that of a trainer only tops the newbies. Perhaps this was a ploy by Caelum to humiliate his previous students with push-ups in the cafeteria or maybe it's just a perk of the job?

While a seemingly abrasive and terrifying person Caelum is rather sweet at heart.

What do everyday objects look like in Sci Fi settings?

Something I see a lot in sci-fi beginner projects is no variation in the evolution of everyday objects. A lot of things simply look exactly the same as they do now.

This youtube video got me thinking about th ergonomics of futuristic objects.

That being said,

What do kitchen utensils look like for the aliens in your future setting?

What of writing utensils?

How have everyday objects evolved as new manufacturing techniques have evolved?

What things stayed the same for humans?

Are there things aliens adopted from humans? How about vice versa?

Work in progress. The line art isn't completely done yet and I tried a new technique to draw hands. I have a bunch more to draw to finish Caelum's reference sheet but I really want to play stardew valley instead so I'm putting it off :)

On a more humorous side note, I'm in the midst of an art trade with someone and I tried a new line art technique and they gave me a compliment on it, SO as a man, it is the only way I will be doing my line art because those serotonins hit real good.

I chose simple biomes, there's no way I'm wasting my time on complex maps with more than 10 biomes. I would simply perish.

Anyway, here's my whole world, *drumroll* Desmodia! How I came up with that name? I was gonna say that I don't remember but I do and I'm just gonna pretend I don't. It's a rather warm and tropical planet with an equal footing of fresh and salt water.
