Jet Greaves Spotted! | Worlds'26, CAN vs. NOR, 5.21.2026
I know we talk a lot about how amazing and beautifully artistic yumandot is and how it transcends scores and rankings and it's just one of the best things to have happened in figure skating but I really need a moment to gush about Yuma's TES because-
With a 4S, two 4Ts, seven triple jumps that included two 3As, lvl4 in all his spins and stsq, Yuma had a base value of 89.43 and an overall TES of 116.3
To compare, Ilia's fs included two 4Ltz, a 4F, a 4T and a 4S as well as four triples and a 2A that came to a bv of 99.1 with an overall tes of 123.07
Shun had a 4Ltz, two 4Ts. His bv was 87.81 with an overall tes of 106.12
Gogolev landed two 4S and a 4T. His bv came at 89.51 and an overall tes of 103.4
Misha's fs at the Olympics with five quads, came at a bv of 99.79 and an overall score of 114.68
Ilia's pb free skate at gpf 2025, which included 7 quads, scored a goe of 31.4 (let's remember that well executed quads get the highest goe)
Guess how much goe Yuma scored at World's? 26.83. With three quads. Exactly, do you understand my point?
I think there's just something so intricately beautiful about performing an element to the highest level and quietly stacking up points throughout the whole program.
And also, even if in this season Ilia holds the highest tes for the sp, Yuma still scored the highest goe. So that's why in the current field, the one second to Ilia at tes has to be Yuma. (I know Misha has landed five quads, but as we can see, that's not everything in the technical scores.)
His goe scores are so high, i usually need a moment to step back when I look at other scoresheets. Hell, I compare the goe he did get, to the ones he previously got and think it's 'low' (that's honestly his fault really.)
It's a little frustrating (a lot) that Yuma only gets dubbed as an artistic skater when if we look at the numbers, this guy is also a technical monster and always has been. Just quieter and not as flashy.
if nothing else at least i'll never have to watch this program ever again
I am partial to a man in a tank and white open button up😋
