Easter is not cancelled. The egg hunts, the celebrations with friends and family may be cancelled, but the real reason we are supposed to be celebrating Easter has not been cancelled. Not quite 2000 years ago, “Jesus climbed the hill, to the Garden”, the Garden of Gethsemane. We do not know how long he was in that garden, but we do know he felt everything for YOU. He felt your pain, your depression, your anxiety, your heartache, everything. He “bled from every pour” because the pain was so great. After he was done “taking upon him the sins [and pains] of the world”, one of His Best Friends betrayed Him. Not some acquaintance or someone He met in passing, No, one of His closest friends and apostles betrayed Him, with a kiss. Finally, He was crucified, but He could not die by man’s hands. He is the only one who could command His Spirit to leave His Body. He did this for YOU. He gave up His life and was buried in a tomb. This was all on what we celebrate as Good Friday. But don’t despair, the story does not end there, because three days later, on Easter, some people went to dress Jesus’ body and found the Tomb empty. Empty. Most of the time the word feels hallow, but during this time, it is HOPE. Because the tomb was Empty, Jesus Christ lives. He is Resurrected. He does live. He guides us today. Remember this as you celebrate Easter in your homes this Sunday. He is the Reason for the Season. Spring is a time for New Beginnings. Let us all have a New Beginning with this Easter. I invite all who have read this to join in The Worldwide Fast on Good Friday for the relief and God’s aid in helping with COVID-19. He may not help in the way we want or think, but be open to God’s miracles and you will see them in your life and the lives of those around you. I know Jesus is the Christ. He not only died for me and you, but He took upon Him everything you can and can’t imagine. He then broke the bands of death and Lives Again.
