Two years ago today Metallica played a blistering set in Manchester and put on one hell of a show despite the English downpour, 18 June 2019

problem solving with lars: yell incoherently in danish // tuning room in munich - august 23rd, 2019
Oh, yeah, also saw Ghost opening for the boys - I’ve been wanting to see them live for quite some time and I finally got to do that 😍 Also, Cardinal Copia kept coming to my side of the stage, pointing at me and posing ‘cause he saw I was trying to take a good picture and wanted to help me out 😂
Loved them, they’re even better live 🤘🏻
Twickenham ritual review
So the mini ritual in Twickenham last night was absolutely brilliant! As usual, Cardi and the ghouls knocked it out of the park (stadium :P), and despite not being huge on Metallica their performance was still mind-blowing. Respect where it's due, those lads can still put on a spectacular performance.
I'd never heard of Bokassa before but for a first opening act they weren't half bad and I'll definitely be checking on more of their stuff; Gave us major Evil Scarecrow vibes, for anyone who's listened to them before, and definitely a good choice to get everyone warmed up.
Way up top the sound wasn't amazing, the vocals were definitely muddy in places and the instruments blurred together with the echoes, but the view of the whole stage while Ghost played made up for it. Half the set I spent standing at the railing of the balcony with another ghost fan just rocking out to our hearts content until we were politely asked to move by security. Fair enough, stepped up to the empty seats at the back to continue living our best Ghost lives 'while the band wrapped up.
We definitely agreed they made excellent use of the time slot they got, throwing in all the favourites with a few staples and a couple of instrumentals. Square Hammer, Dance Macabre, Rats, Cirice, Faith, Mummy Dust, Year Zero, Ritual, Helvetesfönster, Ashes to open, and Miasma... I think that's all but my post-ritual memory is a little hazy.
All in all a fabulous ritual, as usual. Cardi and the ghouls stage antics were entertaining and charismatic as ever, even if all the talk of ass wobbling and taint tickling went over the confused heads of some 'pure' Metallica fans present. Can't please everyone I guess but we had a great time, even in the cheap seats! Already saving up for the next one, whenever that may be!
