To any young person (11-30) interested in a career in human rights (internship opportunity!)

There’s an organisation called the World Youth Alliance, which was basically founded during a UN meeting, that you can join simply my signing their charter here to unlock internships and free training programs, webinars etc on human rights issues:

After this, you have the opportunity to do their Certified Training Program training, which is basically a short course where you get taught about their ideals and human rights issues.

The internship is also interesting, and I have to add that now is a good chance because the internships are online and fairly low-work (1-2 meetings a week and a few easy tasks). 

After lockdown is over, you do the internships at their office but while expenses are covered, it’s unpaid, so now is a good time as you can do it online and get good references 

Internship tasks usually include managing a social media page, writing blogs and articles or managing the technicals of an upcoming event

As for the unpaid part, it’s funding issues, and I strongly agree it should be paid considering internships can be up to 3 months long, but they do cover your expenses (if you need it) and provide accommodation, and can be good for experience if you have the time right now (graduates?)

I urge you guys to sign the charter here, because even if you’re not interested in a long-term commitment, you can get emails for things like opportunities to write blogs and articles, which you can add to your CV

Also, they have offices in Africa, North America and Europe, so you do the internship based on your location! North American internships are usually in New York, as far as I know, and they let you work with organisations like the UN. In Europe it’s working with the amazing Brussels office, where in-person you’d work with organisations like the European Commission! As for now, it’s average work I mentioned above but it’s experience!
