I finally finished all the refs to answer this ask bless my soul. This is kind of brief so let me know if yall want more cultural stuff later!

Number one: the head. Ears jut from the upper sides of the head, pointed and canine like. Ear cartilage forms from the canal upwards. The feathers in their hair are actually growing from their scalps (think the tendrils in the Na’vi’s hair from Avatar) and act as decorative plumage.

Imagine them as a weird mix of harpies and werewolves. They originally lived high up in the mountains, but eventually spread across the world.

Number two: the body. The main differences between a human body and theirs are the claws, wings, digitigrade legs and tails. They have an extra set of pectoral muscles for their wings (note: certain sub species cannot fly, due to a weight disparity, instead they glide!)

They are omnivorous and consume a mixed diet similar to humans, with more plant fibre and insect proteins.

If König lives in another village, what do they say about him? I’m curious of what the village may think about him especially since he is probably seen as more terrifying cause of his height and his mask. Also is your fishing au inspired by the game called Fish Market as reading Soap’s part in the story, it reminds me a lot about the game and how it handles someone being stuck a dead end job with no hopes of getting something better. (If not then I highly recommend you watch it, it’s a very short game but it reminds me so much of Soap in your fishing au)

König’s village is actually a distant island town that doesn’t interact with outsiders a lot. There ARE a lot of caves however. And that’s where König stays for most of his days. People talk about him the way you’d talk about a wild animal, dangerous and unpredictable. I’d argue he actually has it worse, since he doesn’t have a lot he can do to provide for his village, so no one really likes him.

I’ve not heard of that game, but I’ll be sure to check it out sometime! Definitely sounds like Soap I will say LMAO.

Thing I will always go crazy about in psychonauts is the fact that gameplay things are explained by Raz’s background. He can’t swim? Yeah his family was cursed to die by drowning. Why can he do backflips and tricks for days? He’s part of the circus! It’s just little details but it’s so much better than “he just can”

That’s so real. It definitely adds a sort of immersion that most games gloss over in favour of focusing on other aspects.
