River had always tried to keep the Doctor in the dark about her life outside. Years of training didn’t get brushed away after just a few says with your parents and a university degree. She still wanted to do better, but recently she had been struggling more. The anger she had managed to control for the last lifetime was gone now. 

“Doctor please,” River had rushed after him, she hadn’t expected him to see her holding a whole building to ransom and she certainly hadn’t want him to see her killing the leader. “I can’t say it won’t happen again, but I am sorry. Please, at least forgive me.”

“Yeah but  don’t you think it’d be  so hot down there that 150 degrees would feel like -10? What if the sex helps warm them up?” Raleigh asked, cocking a questioning brow in the man’s direction. “And I imagine the sex is wild. Imagine being invited to a hell party?”

      she’s darting through a rather dimly lit tunnel, investigating a distress beacon. all in all, a typical day for the doctor, even if it is eerie and strange and sound echos far too well. even as she reaches the end of the hall to a door and her steps slow, they echo with the noise of an army when it’s just her. the doctor. putting her life in danger for the sake of the universe. 

    holding her sonic in one hand, she opens the door and is immediately met with an angry scottish man that she takes one look at and slams the door back into his face.

       “oh, bugger me.”

“Oh for Merlin’s sake, don’t scare me like that, my boy.” Well, in truth, it took a lot to scare the old warlock anymore - a power to sense auras tended to take the surprise out of most everything, honestly - but that didn’t stop the young man from giving him a fright regardless. “I... I’d been wondering if you might get around to paying me a visit, but with how your father is where I’m concerned... Well, let’s just say I didn’t want to get my hopes up too high.” Nerves were something he hadn’t experienced in quite some time either, but then again no one could get him feeling quite as anxious as his family did - especially his son and evidently his grandson too. “How... How are you, Warren? You seem to be doing quite well for yourself and, if I may so, I’m quite proud of you for that.”
