My Mistakes Make Me Meet You
Lord,
My mistakes bring me closer to You. They show me how fallible I am, and how much I must trust you. I feel in my stomach a creepy crawling of doubt, of panic. The feeling is because I misplaced my some of my cherished belongings, and it tells me I'll never see them again. But the calm of You infuses into my life, decompressing out and into my soul like a locomotive shooting off steam.
And that's just you. That's how you are. I'm in awe. How can I not be worried? My situation has thousands of dollars and loads of headache on the line, but my worry is no more. You have killed it, just by sidling up next to me, it vanishes.
You've even replaced it.
You haven't just brought peace, You've brought learning, You've brought love, You've brought life, and the fullness thereof. How can we falter in our faith? How can we lose it or give up or forget or doubt?
My situation has yet to be resolved in my earthly view of time, but I know that it is already solved in Your time. Your power is released. My misplaced things—though their import is minor in the long run—are better guarded now than in Fort Knox. I praise You for the lessons You've taught me and the strange ways I learn them.
There's something incredible in Your eye that amazes me. There is something knowing, perfect and freeing in Your presence. Guide me how You will, teach me how You will, may I ever be learning from You, the most glorious of Professors.
I love You.
The caravan of life shall always pass Beware that is fresh as sweet young grass Let’s not worry about what tomorrow will amass Fill my cup again, this night will pass, alas.
