I genuinely think that if they were going to symbolize el as “the magic of childhood” or anything else for that matter, atleast humanize her instead of trimming her down to mikes girlfriend, the girl with powers who killed herself, the magic of childhood.
I mean I always saw her as being a slight metaphor for normalcy, to mike. but that does not mean that she isn’t a person. she could’ve been both a real, human girl with authority, and a symbolic one, too.
that is one of the many places where the dud brothers FAILED. they simply turned her into just a metaphor, a trope, without leaving any sense of life attached to her.
el hopper you are bigger than the whole universe
oh and worst of all, the trope they chose was Born Sexy Yesterday.
how funny…. a show based on breaking stereotypes 😐
Since tumblr's being a shit and not letting me into my inbox I'll just answer this here because it has the crux of my problem;
I'm aware it's not hurting people.
But do you remember when those people, specifically a lot of young to middle-aged women suddenly got REALLY into Jeffrey Dahmer and Ted Bundy, calling him hot and such?
It didn't 'hurt people' with them saying it but it's still fucked up, especially since the families of their victims are all very much about and either have to deal with seeing this sort of thing or hear about it, that's the vibe being into Yandere gives me and that's why I don't like it. It's why I have it blocked on multiple sites.
I'm just complaining because I'm feeling exceptionally persnickety when people tag it with 'romantic' because it bunches my skin in the worst of ways to see something that fetishizes the idea of having a murderous stalker equated to 'romance'.
It very much reads of people who never grew out of the 'I can fix them' phase and who have never had a brush with that kind of situation. (And hopefully NEVER do in their future.)
currently experiencing irl forbidden love and let me just tell you it’s the worst trope ever and simply shouldn’t exist
I swear to god if this ends up being a "girl finally returns guy's feelings after he moves on" thing I'm gonna
I'm so sorry to TropeAnon✌️but is there a trope that would you like it to end? Like no no that gots to go something like that?
I have several, tbh. But the main on is gay for you. Gay for you has gotta gooooo. Boo gay for you. Let characters be gay! Let them be bi! Let them be demi or pan or ace... but stop with the gay for you BS!
Stop making me fix your gay for you with demi, bi and pan headcanons. Stop!
Chespin: *steals Pancham's food*
Pancham: *slaps Chespin*
Humans: Oh, what are these two fighting about?
Serena: Pancham, you know better than to fight with Chespin
Me: *fantasizes about them drop-kicking Chespin into a volcano*
“Tsundere”s are just diluted, over-glorified schizophrenic assholes, and I hate their guts.
I’m looking in great disgust at my younger retarded and maybe masochistic? self.
