Hello! Thanks for doing this Sleepover Saturday request~ I'm in great need of advice, if it's no trouble. My parents are divorcing in 3 months and I'm living with my dad. I really despise my mom for the emotional abuse she's done to me and my family. She and my dad are still somewhat friends, and she has to come by to visit my brother who's not an adult yet. I don't want her around, but I'm forced to be nice with her while she can be rude to me all she wants. What should I do? I can't stand her.

Hey! First of all, I’m super sorry to hear about your situation, and I really hope things will get better for you and your family soon!

I think the only thing I don’t really get is why do you have to be nice to her? I mean, who says you have to? Who forces you? I think it’s a great strength when people can be very nice and polite to people who are extremely rude, but kindness isn’t always repaid with kindness, and that can be extremely exhausting, so I don’t think it’s wrong to be a little “cold” and not all that friendly to people who don’t treat you right. What goes around, comes around, and it serves them right in my opinion, so I just wouldn’t be nice if I was you, I guess. That’s horrible advice, though, unless you love arguments and stress,. What I’m trying to say is just that you don’t need to feel bad in case you’re not nice to her! 

And well, besides that, what should you do? I’m not an expert, and my advice probably isn’t the best in general, but my personal way to deal with my parents is to avoid them. I distanced myself (by kinda moving out) when I was only 15, and getting my freedom and not having to see my parents all the time anymore helped me a lot. By now my relationship to my parents has even gotten considerably better (as long as we don’t see each other too much at least), so that worked out really well for me. A lot of people consider avoiding conflict to be a bad thing, but in my opinion it’s a very healthy way to take care of yourself. If you want to live a happy life, don’t expose yourself to too much stress. So, yeah, well, what about just not being home whenever your mother comes to visit? It will probably save you a lot of trouble..

Also, I think you should remember that being related by blood is no reason to love someone. I’m so sick of people saying mean things about people who don’t feel close to their parents, and I think it’s great that you’re able to clearly state these things and don’t feel ashamed. I think that’s pretty much the hardest part of dealing with a situation like yours, so to me that alone already is very strong and mature of you.

Okay, I don’t know how exactly you mean it (like how realistic these are supposed to be for example), so I’ll just list some stuff that comes to my mind :D

I want Oikawa and Kageyama to make up, to talk thing out, to forgive each other, to be friends. I want Oikawa to congratulate Kageyama on beating Shiratorizawa, and I want him to cheer Karasuno on at nationals! Just.. Oikawa and Kageyama getting along well.. please..

I want to see how the Shiratorizawa boy live at their dorms?! Like who shares a room with whom, and all the shenanigans and stuff, you know? It was teased in the manga, so now I want M O R E

Iwaizumi and Oikawa going to different universities and then meeting on the court playing AGAINST each other for the first time. That’d be hella interesting to see in my opinion.

I want Oikawa and Miya Atsumu to meet! That’d be… I don’t even know.. but I definitely want it!

Some king of after nationals party?? Like where all teams, I mean ALL TEAMS, meet and celebrate? I want to see them all together, that’d be fun
