WHAT I ACTUALLY READ IN AUGUST | AUGUST WRAP UP
August did go mostly as expected, although I skipped on about 6 books and read some others instead. Overall, I still read 14 books. I am slightly disappointed at myself for not reading as much as I actually wanted and had time for before school oficially starts, but life sometimes gets in the way.

Stalking Jack The Ripper by Kerri Maniscalco is a historical fictional novel that I read on the 1st of August during BookTubeAThon. I had quite high expectations for this book, which were, unfortunately, not met. However, I gave this book a solid 3 out of 5 stars. You can find my review for Stalking Jack The Ripper here.
Eliza and Her Monsters by Francesca Zappia is a contemporary novel that I read on the 2nd of August during BookTubeAThon. I loved, loved, loved this book and it exceeded my expectations so much. Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo is a fantasy novel set in the Grishaverse that I read on the 3rd of August during BookTubeAThon. It wasn't a bad book at all, but it somehow disappointed me since I expected a bit more. Overall, I gave it 4 out of 5 stars. You can find my review for Shadow and Bone here.
Murder on the Orient Express by Agatha Christie is a classical mystery that I read on the 4th of August during BookTubeAThon. I didn't find myself as invested in it as I thought I would be, and it was somehow neutral to me. Personally, I don't even usually read these kinds of books, so I gave it 3 out of 5 stars. You can find my review for Murder on the Orient Express here.
The Wicked Deep by Shea Ernshaw is a fantasy novel that I read on the 5th of August during BookTubeAThon. I heard quite mixed opinions on this book, but I ended up liking it quite a lot, especially the writing style. I gave it 4 out of 5 stars. You can find my review for The Wicked Deep here.
Before She Sleeps by Bina Shah is a dystopian novel that talks about many even now actual problems that I read on the 6th of August. This book gave me major The Handmaid's Tale vibes, and it was well written and quite interesting. In result, I gave it 4 out of 5 stars. You can find my review for Before She Sleeps here.
The Way of Kings by Brandon Sanderson is a high fantasy novel set in Roshar that I read on the 16th of August. It is really a massive book, but it was amazing and magical and I loved it a lot, so I gave it all 5 stars that it deserved. You can find my review for The Way of Kings here.
A Darker Shade of Magic by V.E. Schwab is a fantasy novel that tells the story of three different Londons and Kell, the Antari that can travel through them. I read it on the 21st of August. It was quite a fast and good read, but it did disappoint me, since I felt like the author could've done more with the action scenes and character building. Overall, I gave it 3.5 out of 5 stars. You can find my review for A Darker Shade of Magic here.
Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher is a young adult novel telling the story of Clay and Hannah, who killed herself, that I read on the 23rd of August. It wasn't the first time I read it, but it did shock me quite a bit. I gave it 5 stars. You can find my review for Thirteen Reasons Why here.
Kiss Her Goodbye by Susan Gee is a psychological thriller that I read on the 27th of August. It was quite a problematic book and it didn't really work for me personally. In result, I gave it 3 out of 5 stars. You can find my review for Kiss Her Goodbye here.
Siege and Storm by Leigh Bardugo is the second part of a book I also read in August, Shadow and Bone. I read it on the 28th of August. I liked it quite a bit better than the previous one, although my feelings switched a lot. You can find my review for Siege and Storm here.
Red Rising by Pierce Brown is a science fiction book set in a world where there are different Colors, each born into it and made to do what is asked of them, that I read on the 29th of August. It is definitely one of my new favorite books and it was sooo good and so magical. Logically, I gave it all 5 stars. You can find my review for Red Rising here.
How (Not) to Marry a Duke by Felicia Kingsley is a romance novel that I tried to read on the 30th of August. I came through the first 20% and then stopped reading, because it was a horrible book and I don't feel like wasting my time on books that I know I won't like at all. You can find my reasons for DNF-ing here.
Legendary by Stephanie Garber is a fantasy novel that follows the story of the second sister, Donatella, as she has to battle through another game of Caraval. I read it on the 31st of August. It was a magical book and I personally think it is a lot better than Caraval, so I gave it 4.5 out of 5 stars. You can find my review for Legendary here.
