i did a thing last night that said if mutuals sent me a hey i’d say nice things about em

yours might be too short because you’re one of those people i give so much of a shit about that my words kind of turn to mush? and i know i’ve poured my soul into letters and skype messages and whatnot to you over the years but i’ll see if i can rehash the things i feel every time i think about who you are to me. you take such a high fucking priority in my life.  i love you so, so fucking much. all i want to do is make sure you’re safe and protected and as happy as is mentally possible for as long as you can be.

It was a stroke of luck in the early hours of the morning that my instinct brought me to the conversation that would change us.  Though, I’m sure that it would have happened at a later date had that exchange not sprung forward.  Regardless, I’m happy it happened.  I’m happy we happened.  Through the last 4 years, you have always been by my side, even in the times when our relationship was shaky.  No hard feelings, of course.  Siblings fight. And at our core, that is what we are--family.  We made a statement to choose our family and we chose each other.

No matter what the future holds, I see you in it.  I see you all around me and I see you surviving, even if I have to carry you out of hell while bombs explode around us and lightning crashes down.  Anything, I will do anything to make sure you persevere, because even though the world looks bleak sometimes, I know it to be a beautiful place.  I want you to be able to see it, too.  

I’ll take you no matter what mood or state of being you are in, Strider.  I’ll hold your hand forever, I will walk beside you.  I’ve decided that I adore you, I’ve decided to protect you with my life.

I hope that’s okay, because it isn’t optional.
