anesthesia is so stupid because you expect to slowly drift to sleep, everything fading to black n stuff, but no. it’s like instant one second ur lying on the table eyes open staring at the guy about to cut you open and the next you’re in a random hospital bed feeling heavy as fuck and having no clue how much time has passed. even the wake up is strange. I had to pull myself up with my hands (while still not being able to open my eyes) three times before I could get my body to sit up, and even then it took around a minute to get my eyelids not to droop down every two seconds. And the pain you should be feeling comes back slowly and then starts hitting like a truck and you feel gross in hospital clothes and wires sticking into you and you really want to go home. but it will be okay because there are saltines and jello for eating and jello make everything better
