There are a BUNCH of flashy as hell shows going on Mania Week (seriously, so much wrestling!) but in the middle of all this my three favorite indies are running ,shows and if you’re going to be in town and have holes in your schedules, here are some excellent options:

BATTLE CLUB PRO

This is a special all women show, so as an added bonus no extra story background needed! Battle Club always has a great atmosphere all the times I’ve been there and this looks like it’s going to be a great time.

WRESTLEPRO

Don’t know anything about Wrestlepro? Here’s a quick catch up!

- At the last big show my beloved Matt Macintosh won the Wrestlepro Gold championship after an impromptu 4 way number one contender match and then an immediate title match in front of a crown wild for him. It was AWESOME. This should be his big coming out party for the new champ. 

- Wrestlepro’s owner is Pat Buck, who’s come out of retirement this year bitter, angry, and with a taste for hitting people with kendo sticks.

- Silver Champion Nikos Rikos just formed a villainous new stable.

- Kevin Matthews and Fallah Bah beat Team Espana for the tag titles only to have to give the championships back on a technicality, to the dismay of the crowd.

Wrestlepro always has a well put together show and usually has a nice selection of merch tables. And Colt is going to be there! Congratulate Colt on the NJC!

CAPITOL WRESTLING

I confess, Capitol is my favorite of all the locals. This show is in Ridgefield Park on Wrestlemania Sunday, which is about fifteen minutes from Metlife Stadium. You will already be in Jersey anyway! :D

 - The Bad Apple is also champion here! He is wonderful. Please come throw streamers at the champ with us.

- The Sapphire Champion is Jimmy Rave, a name long time ROH fans might know. He is in the Sanctuary here which is...okay, they insist they’re not a cult. (They’re a cult. One of them is from space! No one really knows how Jimmy wound up with this bunch but I guess it’s working out?)

- Speaking of the old ROH days, Special K is getting the band back together at this show!

- This show will have the fourth match in the Anthony Bowen/Darius Carter Best of Five series! Anthony Bowen is the earnest young driven babyface dreams are made of while Darius Carter is one of the most booable smug snakes you will ever see. He’s also up 2-1.

- Owner Harry Terjanian is basically the worst and making enemies left and right, while his cohort Zac Amico is a proponent of “open dialogue” while also being some kind of goblin. Boo them loudly.

- Sonny Kiss is coming home for the first time since signing with AEW! 

- Juba is back from his broken ankle and red hot at Harry for stripping he and Smily’s tag titles.

- KC Navarro just won the new Freestyle championship and is set to fight Australian Suicide, which is going to be a face-meltingly good match.

Capitol tickets are also on brownpapertickers but are DEAD CHEAP on Groupon. You cannot go wrong with $13 for a whole show. (Capitol only has GA seating, everything is first come, first serve.)

Welcome to NY/NJ! If you do go to the Wrestlepro show on Apr 3rd or the Capitol show we may awkwardly wave at each other! Happy wrestling!

My husband and I went to the WrestlePro Full Steam Ahead show tonight, and I got to meet some of my favorites from the tv! The whole show was amazing, from the opening ten-man tag match all the way to the main event. Also I can confirm that the guys in Bear Country are the Best Huggers.
