We have been resurrected! This prompt can have many interpretations, and we are excited to see any and all of them! The prompt for this month:
The world was bigger than she'd ever known.
(Though we use "she" in this prompt, we will not object to other pronouns used.)
You’ll have until February 25-30 (roughly around there) to post your story. You’re free to write anything you want, barring any NSFW content and Harry Potter fanfiction (other fanfic is ok), just please add content warnings at the top. We can’t wait to see what you come up with!
So, @strawberrie-faerie recently came up with a very interesting concept, and after talking about it for awhile, we decided to host it as a writblr event!
The idea is this: every 2 weeks we'll post a writing prompt. Anyone who wants to participate then reblogs it, confirms their participation, and makes their own short story with the prompt, tagging it "a million possible outcomes" (the title i spontaneously came up with). You can also tag me or them if you want in the post.
Then at the end of the 2 week period, i'll reblog all the stories! the idea is to see how each individual writblr takes a prompt and tailors it to their specific style and imagination. It'll hopefully help quell that "ahhh nothing original exists, im terrible" mindset a lot of us have, and it'll also just be fun!
The prompt for December 1st to December 15th is as follows:
A corpse sits at the bottom of the river. Everyone knows this.
What they don't know is how to handle it when that corpse wakes up.
if you think this is a cool idea and/or want to participate, please reblog! we'd love for this to be an actual writblr event, because it seems like something that could be really cool.
(Notes: there isn't a limit of what qualifies as "short" but i'd suggest a "keep reading" for anything that gets a bit longer.)
Friday Night Fights is a friendly writing event, in which participants all respond to a writing prompt chosen on Monday, and reveal these stories to one another on Friday night. It began as a joking “competition” between a friend and I, continued to grow with many of our friends, and fizzled away as we all got busy. I’m hoping to revive it on a grander scale to include all of you!
How does it work?
Each Monday, I will announce the prompt for the week; it may be a recycled prompt or a new one, depending on how I’m feeling.
You can chop up and alter the prompts as you wish
You can write original or fan fiction
You can make it as short or as long as you’d like! (But, of course, be polite and use a read-more if it’s getting long!)
Post your finished story on Friday night of that week, and tag me!
Please use the tag #friday night fights and/or #fnf fill so I can better see your works! (My notes get very messy and busy, so this is another good way for me to see it!)
Please do not tag other participants who haven’t expressly asked to be tagged in your works! (I don’t want to make anyone uncomfortable; some people just like to put out their work and not read others, or just a select few)
Please be kind to one another! This is all just for fun!
So, what do we win?
A sense of fun, community, and camaraderie! It’s not really a competition, but rather just a fun event I like to call a competition to make it sound a bit more ~intense~ I’ll be reblogging and reading as many stories as I can (but, given that I am incredibly busy this semester with work and school, I can’t guarantee I’ll get to everyone or participate myself each week) so however that may be an incentive? Again, it really is for fun!
The first FNF prompt will be announced on Monday, September 2nd! I hope to see all the wonderful stories you create!
this month's mood (a thing now) is sleepy sleepy sleepy because i am sleepy sleepy sleepy but hopefully the cool stories to come out of this prompt will not make YOU sleepy sleepy sleepy !! anyway. here's the August prompt:
"Freedom would be lovely. But usually, caged birds die caged birds."
ooooh ahhhh another dialogue prompt
You’ll have until August 25-30 (roughly around there) to post your story. You’re free to write anything you want, barring any NSFW content and Harry Potter fanfiction (other fanfic is ok), just please add content warnings at the top. We can’t wait to see what you come up with!
This is the blog for the A Million Possible Outcomes writblr event, which is run by Nico, he/him (@nicola-writes) and Mika, she/her (@strawberrystarcake).
A Million Possible Outcomes is a monthly writing event based around prompts, the concept of every story being original even if they share similarities, and having fun!
On the first of each month, we will post a writing prompt. It might be dialogue, or it might not be. It'll be vague, but hopefully enough to get the gears in writers' heads turning! Then, we'll reblog them on/around the 20th. It's not a competition, just a fun little event.
AMPO accepts fanfic, original fiction, prose, and poetry. We're a-OK with dark topics, provided there is no NSFW and you give appropriate content/trigger warnings in the post.
Each story should be posted roughly around the 20th of the month they're for. We won't reblog a story until the 20th, but if it takes you a little further into the month to get it done and posted, that's totally okay. :D
We will be adding in the masterpost of AMPO stories shortly--make sure to check that out! Additionally, all AMPO stories from March 2022 and onward will be reblogged onto this blog, so if you follow, you're sure to see some awesome work each month.
About us and kindly DNI under the cut!
