Long, personal post about my 'unconventional' beliefs
What do I believe in? What religion do I practice? Hmm...interesting question.
I don't practice any religion. I could say that most of my beliefs fall into the New Age movement though. (I started reading about it way after I had made up my mind about what to believe in) This post shows just the surface of what I believe. To explain everything, we'd have to sit down and talk for hours. ;)
For some reference, you can take a look at this post I made: http://cosmicteacup.tumblr.com/post/13459247858/my-beliefs

I used to go to a Christian church when I was a kid. Then about 6 years ago, I started going to Church again, but I left a couple of months later. After I stopped going, I kept believing in God, in Heaven and Hell. It wasn't until 2010 that I started really questioning those beliefs. I remembered that I felt horrible while going to church because I was taught that some of the things I liked or wanted to do were not permitted or were considered a sin. I found myself repenting and asking God for forgiveness so many times... I also found myself discarding other people's beliefs. I thought my religion was 'the right one' the 'only truth'.
At the end of 2010 I guess I was ready to learn more about science and proven facts. Bit by bit, I was letting go of my christian beliefs and my mind was opening on its own, ready to receive all the information I had been missing by going to church. My beliefs might sound crazy to most people, but I don't mind. ;)
As for the origins of the universe: I believe in the Big Bang theory.
As for the origins of the human race: I believe in evolution. I also believe -and this is the crazy part- that aliens (Annunaki) came to Earth and modified the humans' DNA. They took the earlier humans (possibly the neanderthals) DNA and mixed it with their own DNA, therefor creating the modern human / homo sapiens. (aka Darwin's 'missing link') *This belief comes from the ancient civilization of the Sumerians: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sumer
Do I worship and believe in any god/goddess/gods?: No. I believe we are all gods/goddesses. We make our own heaven or hell. We are all our own demons too.
Do I practice any religion/rituals?: Meditation.
What happens when we die?: I don't have the slightest idea. I think that maybe our energy will go into the Earth (James Cameron's Avatar style) or maybe our 'soul' or 'spirit' will go to the stars or maybe we will reincarnate. I like to think that, whatever one believes about the afterlife, that's what will happen to us. If you believe in heaven or hell, you'll go there.
I believe strongly in the law of attraction. The power of our mind and our thoughts. It has to do a lot about faith. Faith does work. Humans don't use their brain's full power. The key is to apply all your focus into the one thing you want most. And eventually you will get it. It's all about mind power and positive thinking. Of course, you need to work towards your goal, along with having faith. And what you want may come in an unexpected way, so you have to be aware so that it doesn't go unnoticed. And you have to be willing to receive it even if something bad had to happen to you in order to get it. I believe the universe has its own energy and it works to make things happen.
I love to read and learn about all religions. Before, I used to think one should follow only one religion and I was considering trying Buddhism (cause for me it looked like the most 'peaceful' of all religions) But then I thought what I really wanted for myself and since I didn't want to go to any church or practice any rituals, I decided to take bit of different religions and apply them to my daily life. I have a notebook and a pen drive filled with different quotes from philosophers, authors, movies, songs, etc., that talk to me. I want to make my own personal book filled with those quotes and make it my 'book of life'. :)
One of the most important reasons I stopped being a christian was that I didn't want to have to be begging god for forgiveness. I choose what's right or wrong for me. If I do something, like, lie to somebody, I choose if I should forgive myself for doing it and if I should apologize to that person. I choose what to believe in.
Last year, I started hanging out with some old friends I hadn't seen in a while and, to my surprise, they also think like me. They beliefs differ from mine a bit but it's awesome. Right now we have a group of 6 people - all with different beliefs- and we get together and talk for hours. We talk about aliens, quantum physics, cultures, religions, etc. We haven't gathered in a while though. It's great to have people that think like you. And when I found Tumblr? Oh my Thor, it was amazing! More people with similar beliefs! :D
2012 will bring a new era. The world will wake up. It has already started with all the revolutions and stuff.
