3. Describe the creative process of writing a chapter/fic. Oh, I love this question! If you asked me a little over a year ago I would say: "I have no fucking clue."

When I first started writing, I thought I would have to write a very detailed outline and know everything about my story from the start. I spent a big chunk of my writing journey getting hung up on the smallest details or getting frustrated that, what were essentially first drafts, were not immediately "perfect." That frustration burnt me out and robbed me of my joy to make anything, but I wanted so badly to get the stories inside of me out. I don't know why I was so resistant to trying something different, I think I desperately wanted this approach to work for me, but it just did not. So anyway, finally, I surrendered my pride and figured if I couldn't write, I should read and study and try something new. I clearly had so much to learn. Still do. I share this because I want people to know that if the way you're writing is not working, it's okay! It might just be there is another way to go about it that may work for you.

(Watching interviews/lectures from my favorite writers and especially Ellen Brock's videos on YouTube were the main things that pointed me in the right direction of things for me to practice and try.) The Flashlight Method of writing is what works for me. This process requires minimal to no outline at all. Picture a long dark tunnel, that's your story. Then there is you, the writer standing at the start of it with nothing but a flashlight. You can only see as far as that light goes and if you want to see more, you need to walk/write those next steps first.

When I first started UY I hardly knew anything about Effy. I didn't even know her family except that she had a weird Grandma. It wasn't until about Chapter 14 that I knew how I wanted the story to end. It was until last night that I knew how it was going to change again. It's kind of a chaotic process, but for me very thrilling because all those discoveries is what I live for.

4. Where do you find inspiration for new ideas?

By daydreaming. A lot. Putting myself in the character's head and trying to see behind their eyes is how I visualize those scenes. That is usually when new ideas will come to me and I get those awesome aha moments. ( Music helps too <3 )

Hi!! I know this is very late but can I hear a little bit about your Gahan fic titled "Kill Me Heal Me"? It seems really interesting and I'd LOVE to know more about it!! :3

It's never too late for Gahan fics ;) Feel Me, Heal Me is a TDJ/He Is Psychometric crossover that's been on my mind for a VERY long time. It seems to be progressing, so I hope to finish it after all :)

Kim Gaon has an uncanny ability to read a person or an object’s past through physical contact. Of course Professor Min wants Gaon to use it and pry into Judge Kang’s secrets. Except that, as it turns out, Kang Yohan is the only person Gaon can’t see through. So he has to rely on indirect evidence…which is confusing.

And here's a little snippet from it—the moment when Gaon catches Yohan after his nightmare:

…When Gaon reaches out on an impulse, Yohan bats his hand away like a feral cat would do with its paw—and it makes Gaon freeze: He knows. Surely, he knows.

It’s a matter of conjecture of course because a brief touch hasn’t given Gaon any insight at all, as always, but why else would Yohan react so violently at a simple gesture of sympathy?

With a sinking feeling, Gaon realizes his chief must have been trying to provoke him for quite a while. All those casual touches, and moreover, giving him that watch… It was as if Yohan had been teasing him, Can you read something from this? Anything incriminating? No? How very disappointing!

But now, when Yohan had been caught at a rare moment of vulnerability, his instinct had been to push Gaon away. Would he rather Gaon saw his sins but not his pain?

What does it mean, though, if he knows about Gaon’s ability and still lets him stay? Why would anyone tolerate somebody like him near them? Normally, people freak out when they understand what Gaon is capable of. Even though his visions are mostly sporadic and disconnected, there’s always a chance that one day he’ll pick out something they’d rather leave in the dark, be it something minor or life-changing—and who’d want to live in constant anxiety about it?

Had Yohan decided to keep him close because he liked to play with fire? Is it fun to him?

But whatever his motives are, Gaon feels uneasy about leaving him alone, like a wounded beast in its lair. The beast might growl and bare its teeth, but no matter how scary and strong it might be, shouldn’t there be someone to take care of its wounds?

6. sextape fic, aka 'i hope you are lonely.' this is an interlude where the man who uploaded the tape thinks he's hallucinating a visit from the dead chief judge. yohan quickly dispels the notion that he's not real. after he's done, he goes home and rails gaon as a lil treat :)

8. Do you prefer the beginning, middle, or end of a story?

I love the middle. It's probably the most fun to write - there's so many options and choices and ways the story can go. I do like the starting point of stories though because you get to set up lore and checkov's guns all over (which I ADORE doing), but getting to watch some of the pieces fall into place makes it that much more exhilarating.

65. Tell us about what you're most looking forward to writing in your current project, or a future project

I'm looking forward to [redacted]. All seriousness, I'm looking forward to so many things in so many of my projects. I'm a chronic starter, but by the same measure, there's some satisfaction in getting things moving forward. I'm excited to get into some of my original stuff and start transforming what I have into something more coherent. That's probably the biggest excitement right now.

71. When it comes to more complicated narratives, how do you keep track of outlines, characters, development, timeline, ect.?

Laughing because "keeping track" of is complex. But usually, it's bullet points and spreadsheets. Especially Righteous Fury where it's so regimented by dates (my choice, RIP), I have a spreadsheet that notes major beats and when they happen. Eventually, I want to be better regimented about keeping track of lore and character development, but right now I kind of wing it with a couple of word documents lol. Ctrl+F is my friend. 😂

14. where do you get your inspiration?

I normally get one scene that comes to my head fully formed, and I work from there. Sometimes it takes me a couple of minutes to come up with the surrounding story and sometimes it takes years! A lot of my fics have been reworked versions of film plots, so I get a lot of inspiration there too.

17. talk about your writing and editing process

I tend to write from beginning to end, but skip ahead to do important scenes that I feel *need* to be put to paper to understand the flow of the story. I'm not much of an editor, and generally just read it through a second time and post. I'm a little bit more thorough with longer fics, especially for the scenes that are pivotal.
