Currently, they’re working on a fantasy trilogy with the Zodiacs as gods, with the books respectively titled ‘The Twelve Blessings’ ‘The Twelve Curses’ and ‘The Thirteenth Star’.
They almost always write original novels, and usually fantasy. Every project they’ve written has an element of grimdark to it, as they find morally grey characters and dark settings much more compelling to read and write about. They prefer long projects (they’ve been working on this current trilogy for nearly two years), as it gives them time to properly get to know their characters, setting, and where they want the story to go.
You can find their ao3 here! Make sure to check it out!
They enjoy writing in a lyrical style, sometimes almost like poetry, paying attention to syllables and sentence lengths more than anything else. They’ve been writing literally their entire life; they always used to steal paper from their dad’s office so that they could write short stories about animals and other things. Their first book was titled ‘Polar Bear and Doggu’, a moral tale about how you can be friends with someone despite your differences, and it’s inspired them more than anyone could guess as moral themes are the most important part of their writing. The main reason they write is to share a message, to engage people in different worlds to make them wonder about the faults of ours, and to hopefully make people feel less alone.
And that’s a wrap! Thanks so much for reading this week’s post and supporting our wonderful author! If you know someone you’d like to nominate to be ‘under the spotlight’ as well, or if you want to nominate yourself, check out the intro post here or pinned on the top of my blog :)
