In response to the text in Ch. 3 of Writer/Designer I have linked to a website called Musicovery that was referenced to in the text. After reading this chapter I fell in love with this website. This link is relative to the text because it shows how the creators of this website catered it to the listeners. They let the listeners decide what mood they are in and then suggest songs that they might like to listen to. Also they included genre. You pick what genres you like and what mood you are in and they create a playlist for you. The book says, “These tools – and our brains – rely on pattern recognition to classify musical genres. That pattern recognition is based on genre conventions. And while not every song is within a particular genre uses the exact same conventions, being able to recognize the patterns can help us distinguish one song, and genre, from another.” – Arola, Sheppard, Ball. www.musicovery.com
